I had called into the store in the morning to put one in reserve so i stopped by after work today. I walk in and there is this younger "bro" looking kid working behind the counter. So i tell him " i need a pc680" so as he's walking out the counter i saw that there was one in the floor with a tag that said josh. so i tell him "hey that one is mine" then he gives me the "don't tell me how to do my ****" kind of look. then i notice that the terminals consist of a freaking m6 bolt and not the regular post terminal. so i ask him, hey do you a conversion kit or something? he looks at me like a dumbass and tells me to just convert the cables over. I'm like, ok i guess i can do that. So here's the good part. as i'm checking out he asks, "so what's this going on anyways?"
Me: "an evo"
Him: "those things can put some power down"
Me: "yeah they can"
Him: "so what's yours putting down?"
Me: "not sure. guess we'll find out soon enough. it's a 2.4 built stroker with a 4088r"
Him: "nice. my buddy has one that puts down 680"
Me: "Damn, that's impressive. is he local? does he get on the forums?"
Him: " i'm not sure. His is gray and I know his brother has a white one too"
Me: "wait, is his brother's name cody?"
Him: "yeah i think so, Kurt is over seas. he just got it like 6 months ago."
Me: "no way. want to know who sold him the car?
Him: "who?"
Me: "me. that was my build. Later man"

LOL! so apparently my car got a +240 hp mod over 6 months while it's been sitting in a garage! hahahaha. how small is this world. I just grinned on the way out.

for the record, my car dynoed 426 at zyptie's mustang dyno so i know the kid was just being a ******* and showing off his buddy's car. and i'm sure he quickly found out i know he was bs'ing me too haha!
If you haven't already don't convert your cables they sell bolt on terminals. Prob find them at any auto parts store.

Anyone have a stock manifold heat shield laying around?

That works for me. Did you still have that lower pocket that goes under the HVAC controls?

You said you did a couple months back. If so I will take that to just let me know how much.

Speaking of funny stories. This morning me and my lady come walking out of Kents, and theres a couple of odd guys! One some what young and the other older, ask me if I have 3 bucks for gas. Right "Gas" now I have no problem helping people out but if I dont know where its really going I dont see how that works! I work for my money, and besides I didnt have cash on me!! So I say I dont and keep walking. Well they were parked next to the Evo. So as we are putting the food in the Evo the older guy asks what I have in that. I was not sure where to start or what he was really asking. So I say a turbo lol, then he says no how much. Not that its any of his business I say I dont know. Then he says I bet like 35 maybe 38, and then they drive off after asking for money for gas. Which throws me way off now!! It was like he was acting like with what I drive means I should have money on me to give away! What I have is from working My *** off!! Not from people giving me money, I pay for my **** to try and make me feel like an *** for not having money to give away are you kidding me. Where do these people come from???

So it turns out my CEL wasn't the rear o2 sensor like the shop said (Derrick disabled the sensor). I went and checked for myself and it was a "p0505 idle air control" code. I looked at my throttle cable and notice there was a decent amount of slack, tighten that up and reset the battery and no light came on until the next morning when I came to a light after cruising on the freeway.

Right before the light came on, my RPMs dropped down to 500rpms and back up. Then it made a "funny" smell that went away shortly (no, I didn't fart). Could my throttle body need cleaning?

On a separate note, when Derrick logged some of my pulls yesterday, it hit 26 knocks??? I'm pretty sure my motor would have blown having it like that for almost a year now if they weren't false knocks. also, he turned down my boost timings in ecuflash and my car was still making as much boost lol. According to the logs, it looks like the wastegate isn't opening up like it should at higher RPMs.

Any ideas?

PS we found it's the stock tune.

I dunno, but I do know that the bum I offered to buy two double cheeseburgers for (I had no cash, but he was a nice dude, so I asked if I could at least buy him something off the dollar menu with my card) back when I had the Porsche (he didn't see me get out of the car) and he saw me go to get in it he commented that I deserved such a nice car because I was such a nice guy.

The PO505 Can be attributed to the ISCV not working properly, gummed up or the BISS being out of adjustment.

You have underlying issues with the car & I doubt it is the tune since it is still stock, this is only speculation on my part based on the one log I saw. The source of knock needs to be sorted out first, look for ANYTHING loose or rattling that may cause the knock sensor to trip, including checking out the knock sensor itself. The log I saw actually shows it trying to dump boost above 4500 RPM.

Upon further inspection of the logs I saw that your wgdc is indeed coming on for a brief period cycling 100-80-0 but you are still holding like 21 pounds to redline with the solenoid at 0% dc. Once we find the source of false knocking then we can track down your wg solenoid issue.

Exhaust- check the dp, and the rest to see if it is hitting anywhere, make sure you have RUBBER hangers.

Balancer belt ( I know it was popular with the dsm kids to cut them, I don't know how that would fair with our motors though lol)- I kinda doubt this one.

See what make the wga is ( I should have a stock 11lb one for you)

May be a dead lifter/rocker.

How many miles are on your car ? I forgot to look lol
