I ran 12.1 in my wrx last year. Wish I could have gone again to try and break into 11's, only my first time ever drag racing. Then it blew up, stupid subaru.

Last year making 245 whp I ran a 13.2 with a garbage 2.2 60ft. This year I ran a 13.8 with a 1.8 60ft and lots more power. I simply cannot shift because of the lockout.

I have a funny little story to tell.

So I go to Battery Plus in orem to pick up an Odyssey PC680 small battery for my evo since my stupid big honk Interstate battery won't fit with my IC piping kit right. I had called into the store in the morning to put one in reserve so i stopped by after work today. I walk in and there is this younger "bro" looking kid working behind the counter. So i tell him " i need a pc680" so as he's walking out the counter i saw that there was one in the floor with a tag that said josh. so i tell him "hey that one is mine" then he gives me the "don't tell me how to do my ****" kind of look. then i notice that the terminals consist of a freaking m6 bolt and not the regular post terminal. so i ask him, hey do you a conversion kit or something? he looks at me like a dumbass and tells me to just convert the cables over. I'm like, ok i guess i can do that. So here's the good part. as i'm checking out he asks, "so what's this going on anyways?"
Me: "an evo"
Him: "those things can put some power down"
Me: "yeah they can"
Him: "so what's yours putting down?"
Me: "not sure. guess we'll find out soon enough. it's a 2.4 built stroker with a 4088r"
Him: "nice. my buddy has one that puts down 680"
Me: "Damn, that's impressive. is he local? does he get on the forums?"
Him: " i'm not sure. His is gray and I know his brother has a white one too"
Me: "wait, is his brother's name cody?"
Him: "yeah i think so, Kurt is over seas. he just got it like 6 months ago."
Me: "no way. want to know who sold him the car?
Him: "who?"
Me: "me. that was my build. Later man"

LOL! so apparently my car got a +240 hp mod over 6 months while it's been sitting in a garage! hahahaha. how small is this world. I just grinned on the way out.

for the record, my car dynoed 426 at zyptie's mustang dyno so i know the kid was just being a ******* and showing off his buddy's car. and i'm sure he quickly found out i know he was bs'ing me too haha!

Yeah if you want to talk to another asshat just go to the autozone on 33rd south and 1199 east. overweight, red hair, short....ask him about his "z3" roadster that is the "ultimate" driving experience, and also run's under a 12.4 like "every" car he has ever owned lololol.

I went to Wrench-It (no tools at home) to put on my CAI this past weekend, one of their shop techs was watching me put it on and asking questions (nice guy) then one of their mechanics came over and was telling me how he used to work on BMWs and MINIs and how he knew a lot about the car. He goes on to tell me the CAI will gain me 1.2 hp and that clutch jobs are 11 hours of really hard work. I know the CAI gains more but figure he's just thinking it's equal to the JCW intake over the stock one and keep listening like he knows what he is talking about... Then he asks me if it is the 2.0l or 1.4l model. To which I respond, it's the 1.6l (which the BMW MINI has always been). Stopped listening to him then.

Now I'll be the first to admit I really don't know a ton about cars since I have not done much work on my own on any of them but I always try not to BS like I do.

Also, Autocross at the Maverick Center this Sunday, anyone else going?

It was Saturday afternoon, what were you doing? Sitting around wondering when Jake would be up?

I'll keep that in mind next time though. The drive would be a PITA but still cheaper than the $15 I spent at the shop assuming you would have had all the tools. Damn MINI uses like 12 different Torx bolts.

But at least it looked good right

I hit a 7.8 1/8 mile 88mph

I was locked out of 4th for over 2 sec's and then went to 2nd . I am so lucky my motor is still in one piece . I Love

Edit I'm going out friday, I will shift slower this time just so I can get some mph #'s

can't remember but probably sitting around at home. Chris has tons of tools and we have an air compressor etc etc.. If I can pull a evo motor and drivetrain in the garage we can put a cai on your mini
