So-Cal 93 octane?

I live in Orange County, and I was curious if there are any gas stations that sell 93 octane gas around here. If not, i know a place where I can get 101 octane...what proportions of 91 octane and 101 octane would I use to make around 93-94 octane gas?

Mixing is ok the only prob is that most racing fuels contain lead= bad for cat and O2 sensors...that's where the doesn't mix well myth came from..

i'm pretty sure the place has both leaded and unleaded versions of racing fuel, or at least that's what a friend told me.

Some 76 stations have unleaded 100 octane. Go to their website and search it out. The one I go to is in Newport Beach on San Miguel, nearish to San juaquin Hills Rd.

Mixing is perfectly fine. Some 76 gas stations sell unleaded 100 octane fuel, search their website for locations. Last summer when it was really hot, I was getting a lot of detonation, I mixed $20 worth of 100 octane and filled up the rest with 91. Problem solved, now I have water injection so I don't have to worry about it anymore though

Anyway, my friend had a chart which #gal 100 + #gal 91 = octane. But its really simple math, use this formula:

(100x + 91y) / (x+y)

Where x is number of gallons of 100 octane and y is number of gallons of 91 octane. For exmaple when I was filling up $20 of 100, it was about $4/gal so say 5 gallons of 100 and about 6-7 gallons of 91, that resulted in almost 95 octane. What you're actual octace is will be a little bit lower though, so account for the gas that was already in your tank.

76 stations stopped selling 100 octane....(the ones that haven't stopped yet, will stop pretty soon)

pretty disapointing... the 76 station by my house has sold that forever....
i just stopped by last week, saw "out of service" on the pump... so when I asked when they'd get some more, the clerk said they will not be selling anymore... something about dropping they're sponsor with nascar, or something retarded....
surprisingly knowledgable attendant....

where do you guys get yours at? i don't know how long this whole xylene thing will hold me out... and i'm getting wierd looks, while i poor paint thinner in my gas tank.

Are you serious?! That sucks, I haven't bought 100 octane in about 6mo, theres one not too far from my house, I'll stop by and check it out next time I pass by.

Have any of you guys considered using water injection?

The guy at my 76 (that sells 100 octane unleaded pump gas) says that's a BS rumor...

He says they will continue to sell 100....
