if you want some place close to chill at in that area i would suggest hitting up Old Town Pasadena for some night life or if your looking to check out some cars you can go to San Gabriel and just cruise around the area you'll see a bunch of asian restaurants there with a gang of people cruising up and down Valley blvd.

Old Town Pasadena:

- 605North
- 210 West
- Exit Los Robles Ave.
- Make a left at the exit
- Turn right on Colorado Blvd.

drive down Colorado Blvd. and you'll see all the restaurants and bars there

also after turning right on Colorado you'll also notice a fancy mall to your left there are restaurants and a nice bar inside dress to impress if you decide to go to those...

although i must say its very minimal night life in old town pasadena...if your looking to do some clubbing heading down to Hollywood would be the spot.

Hollywood:

- 605 South
- 10 West
- 10 West becomes 101 North
- exit Hollywood Blvd.

- You can cruise down Hollywood some more for some sight seeing.

- or you can drive down Hollywood for about a mile and make a left on Highland and then turn Left or Right on Sunset which ever way you want to go.

-Turning right takes you to House of Blues and all the upper end clubs/bars/restaurants and turning left takes you to the lower end underground type clubs and bars.

also i gotta warn you guys of the traffic in Hollywood especially on Friday nights its a good night to be cruising [if it isn't raining] slow traffic perfect for cruising on the strip.

enjoy! i'd come out and meet with you guys but i got previous arrangements.

Team Jaspers Supra was a big hit in the solo runs actually...most of the US drivers were big hits in the solo runs but when it came down to the 1 on 1 battles the US drivers cant handle the pressure and all got eliminated.

Rhys Millen in his Pontiac GTO was bashed on by mostly everyone in the grand stands people were being biased and hated on the GTO just because it was an american car and of course Rhys proved them wrong by making it to the 1 on 1 battles but of course Rhys had problems with the car he needs more power on tap he was having a hard time getting around the last hair pin.

Ueo in his Yukes 86 was eliminated earlier in preliminaries. Ken Nomura in his Blitz white R34 i believe got away with a win i dont think he deserved to go on to the final eliminations i believe he battled one of the Team Orange S15s and gave Nomura a run for his position...although Nomura is one of my favorite drivers i dont think he should've gotten the win.

Ken Gushi USA's "prodigy drifter" which i think is a joke was eliminated in qualifications in the first round...now OK i give the guy credit since he's still young and knows how to drift but seriously he's got a long way to go before he should even compete in D1 and the only reason he placed high last year in D1 Demo USA is because he went against alot of amateurs

Takahiro Ueno in his T&E JZZ30 Turbo Soarer had mechanical problems and was in the pits all day

Takahashi graced us with his Toyota Chaser which is another incredible drift machine just as hard to drift like the Soarer too bad he was eliminated.

a self sponosored Daihatsu Charmant[sp?] was enrolled in D1 last minute which only had 360hp and rocked up a good amount of the drivers there i give this guy props for 1. low hp vehicle and worked up a good amount of the drivers 2. he got his car all the way over here on his own with no pit crew or anything but luckily a company i believe Falken took him under their wings and helped him out a bit. and 3. its a freakin Daihatsu!

from what i heard Pacific Rims S13 smashed head on into the walls right infront of the judges... i didnt get to see the crash but i went to go check out the car and that thing was mangled up front...thats going to be a headache for them...

Tarzan took out his 04 Dodge viper on the track had the suspension adjusted to fit the drift course and had a few tries to try and drift it...although the car was way too tight to drift Tarzan was able to get a few slides out of it but damn that f*in car is a beast!

the crowd was what kinda turned me off from going to D1 immature kids...stealing things, starting fights and being obnoxious...it was a huge turn off...but a bunch of my friends and i watched D1 the traditional way! with Sake/asahi beer and some terriyaki bowls! we had the last two rows of the big grand stand up at the top to our selves so we had a great view and the people infront of us were cool and got in the fun with us drinking and eating and cheering on our favorite drivers

Daihatsu

I believe that Daihatsu only had 160 horsepower. Pretty good recap on the event. Other cool highlights was "Rodeo" doing donuts while hanging out of the car and "Tarzan" drifting and crashing the Daytona Viper (sorry I don't know their real names).
