Anaheim Mitsubishi does bad business
I called to ask a salesman to schedule a test drive for me in a new Evolution. He told me he would give me one and we set a date to show up.
I will withold his name but here it goes:
I waited for him outside and was being helped by another gentleman and looking in the car when he finally got back to me from another customer he was busy with. We shook hands and discussed the car for a few minutes. Then came point where I asked for the test drive he promised. He changed the subject and started to become high pressure and unconcerned about fulfilling his promise. He asked me how soon I was ready to buy and if I'd buy the same day. I said I wasn't yet sure and he said, "Okay then I have to protect the car for the future buyer."
I know that line is complete BS. What does he care about someone else's car? It's not going to be his anyways. He was just trying to blow me off and not give me the promised test drive because I didn't satisfy his high-pressure hunger to make an instantaneous sale.
I knew this was all BS but politely insisted on getting what I was promised and said I will drive it gingerly in the test drive. He said okay and would come back.
When he came back he said his manager wanted me to fill out this credit application and discuss the price. I reluctantly came in and decided I didn't want that high pressure sales pitch. It's fair after the test drive, but not before.
Bottom line is, I am a serious EVO buyer and have the money for one but got totally mistreated and lied to. I was promised a test drive with no requirement of making a pre-evaluation before getting it. I will never return to Anaheim Mitsubishi and want to forewarn people of their unscrupulous business practices.
I'm asking people to boycott them for lying to customers like me.

You're not the only one who's had bad experiences at that dealership. I also have been treated unscrupulously by the Service Department at that dealership several times. I add my denunciation to the afore-stated, and second the suggestion to take business elsewhere.

Hate to tell you this but almost all dealers will not let you test drive until you work out some kind of agreement with them. Whether it's a credit check or price, they do not want people racking up miles on thier performance cars. If you don't believe me, go to Chevy and ask to test drive their new C6 Corvette when it comes out. You'll probly get the same answer.
On the other hand, the sales person did not lie to you. He said he would give you a test drive, although he didn't mention that you would have to give something in return. So instead of seeing it from his point of view, see it from mine. I don't wanna buy his new car that you just flogged the **** out of. I want a brand new car with minimal miles. Don't hate on me, just speaking the truth.
