On the other hand, the sales person did not lie to you. He said he would give you a test drive, although he didn't mention that you would have to give something in return. So instead of seeing it from his point of view, see it from mine. I don't wanna buy his new car that you just flogged the **** out of. I want a brand new car with minimal miles. Don't hate on me, just speaking the truth.
No, HE DID lie. When you purposely omit information from a promise it is called a lie buddy, hate to break it to you.

What does a salesman or dealership care if they rack up miles on an Evo? That sounds like a good excuse to deny people test drives sure, but in reality, what do they care? They are not going to own the car with the mileage on it. The car is so limited production that it's not like you have a million others to choose from.

Well I see no point in arguing with you if you're going to be thick-headed about it.

Who here would've bought their Evo if it had 150 miles of test drives on it? Hmmm....not many.

so they dedicate one evolution to test drives, and sell that car at a lower price sometime in the future. they take a little hit in profit, but in the meantime, they make all of their customers happy. doesn't seem like it would be an incredibly bad move on the dealership's part.

EDIT: the key problem with this thought is that i'm assuming that the dealership gives a rat's @$$ about customer satisfaction; an assumption that every mitsubishi dealership i've come in contact with (save costa mesa) has proved wrong.

Likewise I see no sense in arguing with you if you are going to be dim-witted and overlook an obvious lie.

Obvious lie....more like an omission. You never mentioned in your first post that he promised you anything. Welcome to the world of car dealers...you obviously have little experience in this. You will find that your idea of a perfect world does not quit mesh with the real one.

I work at Puente HIlls Mitsu, we tell them if they agree on a price after we check their credit, then of course they can drive it and if they dont like it, they can walk away...thats how we filter the SERIOUS buyers from just a bunch of kids my age that want to drive it(would u let random people put on miles or beat on your evo? or let people that say they can drive stick but really cant, drive your brand new evo?)
JF1GD2... think about it for a second, what does it matter if it racks up miles? y would the dealership care? OF course we care OF course buyers care about miles, they dont know how those miles were put on, i sold to a guy on the forum(neon salamander, he only bought from me cuz our car was never ever driven only about 3 miles)...would you let someone drive or abuse your brand new $30,000 limited production sports car??? I hardly let anyone drive my BMW...If dealerships didnt care about miles or abuse...I'd go to a Ferrari dealership every freaking day and drive 200mph an hour

If you are looking for a clean cut deal(I don't play games) and you are as serious as you say you are...PM me I don't treat my clients like crap

look i'd be pissed too if i spoke with a dealer/salesman who stated that i could come down to the dealership and test drive a car i was interested in, and then when i get down there, they deny me. total waste of my time...

and talk about real world... i spoke with the fleet manager down at Santa Monica mitsu a few weeks back. the guy told me that they had plenty of evo8's in stock, and that they would love for me to come down to check them out and take a test drive. i went down there and spoke with a salesman (FM wasn't there), and before i even mentioned it, the salesman asked if i wanted a testdrive. no credit check or promise to buy required. IF i had gotten down there and they had given me the runaround, i woulda been pissed. but as it is, i was treated fairly.

The problem with credit checks is that they decrease your credit. If I was shopping for a premium car like that, I would go to multiple dealerships to try and find the best deal possible. 5 credit checks in a day or two can hit your credit pretty harshly.

I don't think the formulas work that way. Multiple inquiries from the same type of lender (e.g. automotive, mortgage, etc.) in a short period should not count against you multiple times - the formulas know you are loan "shopping".

It doesn't matter to the dealership because none of the workers there will be taking the car home anyways. So whatever abuse it gets...does it matter? No, they're not going to own a beat up car anyway.

It does work as a great excuse to not give someone a test drive when you (as a salesman) don't want to be rude and say, "I don't think you're a serious buyer."

The other argument to this is bull****, the dealer can still sell cars with many miles and test drives no problem. I bought my WRX with 67 miles on it, a 5 speed. Do you think some grandmas test drove it for those 67? Yeah right! Was the dealer unable to sell the car I bought? No.

My friend bought an 00 RS coupe with 199 miles on it. It works just fine today with 90,000 miles on it now (he does tons of commutes for his business).

My come back is, do you think that 200 or even 500 miles of test driving is going to make the car broken beyond repair? They function just fine. Hell, the owners of Evo's drive them more harshly than your average test driver has the guts to. I don't see them broken...

As far as your sale offer is concerned, thanks anyway, I can get that anywhere. I look for somebody that gives me a no frills, no pressure evaluation of their car. If they don't then that will cost them my business, and that of my family, friends and their friends too and so on...

I can wait, I'm in no hurried to get ripped off on my Evo purchase and will eventually find a courteous, low-pressure dealer. That's who will get an Evo sale from me.

Anaheim mitsubishi really sucks, specially the service department. Let me tell you, the guy named "Larry Perez" is the freaking meanest monkey ever. I took my car one morning for a service. I told that **** that the car is making weird noice, and it is still under the warranty. As soon as he found out that this car is brand new and under the warranty, He did not pay atteintion to me for almost 45 minuts. He tried to igonre me and started helping other customers. I waited there and finally he came up to me and told me to leave my car there and pick it up next day. When i went back to pick it upm that **** told me that he didnt find any noise. I told him straight out that i am now going to complain the Mitsubishi Office. So, same day i complained and after cople of hours; i got the call back from the same guy "Larry PereZ", and he said sorry to me and finally fixed the problem.
Never go there..................He is freaking dumb and lazy as hell.
