Problems w/ Vegas Mitsu Dealerships?

Hey guys. I have been reading a lot on here about Mitsubishi voiding warranties and I wanted to know if anyone in Vegas has had problems with the dealers. If so, which dealer, and if you have a good relationship with a dealer, tell me that too.
Thanks

Sorry to say there are only 3 dealers and guess what, they are all the same owners. I never had issues so I have never been back, but from what I've heard, they are strict with mods and don't have very good Evo techs. Evoguy would know better. He had problems with his tranny and dealt with then at Courtesy Mitsu.

I went to Courtesy Mitsu (where I bought it) when I got my first oil change (had a Q-pon for a free oil change). We specifically asked the head service writer then about modding and he said that anything can be done to the car and the warranty will hold as long as whatever is wrong is not traced back to the mod somehow. Now, I have never had to make a warranty claim so I don't know if they'll end up playing the typical game of trying to get out of it if and when the time comes (though I'm stock for now) so who knows that they'll actually do. I'm curious to hear what Evoguy has to say about them.

Just reference this page....Here

I agree with LV 2 XLR8 2 and what the dealer said. It surprised me to read that because usually, they don't admit things like that.

Basically they suck. They try to void everything. They voided my drivetrain warranty because of a MBC, after I fought it for over 3 weeks they reversed their decision and honored the clutch warranty. THEN my transfer case went out about 500 miles or so after that.....they hadn't serviced it correctly after they installed the clutch and tried to blame it on me racing, another couple weeks arguing and even took the car back because they weren't going to warranty it, kept to my guns and they took it back and fixed it under warranty.

The first year I had the car it was in the shop for over 4 months because they didn't want to honor anything. Eventually got everything covered but it took alot of patience and even more phone calls.

They basically treated me like a punk kid who didn't know what I was talking about (I am 28 and in the Air Force, and a F-15 mechanic). When the t-case went out I brought it to them and told them what the problem was, then they took 2 weeks to figure out I was right.

Oh yeah they gave me a freaking Daewoo as a loaner, (not for the whole time either). Had to wait a week to get a loaner at one point.

So overall I guess what I'm saying is that they suck......

Well, went to Courtesy today. A couple of months ago I got another Q-pon sent to me for an oil change. (it was going to expire tomorrow) This time it said the "sale price" was $24.95, which is the regular price for a regular Lancer oil change. The Q-pon says nothing about excluding Evos and it was also sent to me by the dealer I bought my car from so they know I have an Evo and not just a regular Lancer. Me being the lazy a$$ that I've been the last few weeks decided to take it in and have them do it. Right away, I show the service writer the Q-pon figuring I will get some lip about it not being for my car and ask if they will honor. "No, that's for a regular Lancer oil change." I say "It doesn't say excluding Evos." and he says "Well, I don't know what to tell you." I say "You guys know I bought an Evo and not a regular Lancer...why am I getting this sent to me then?" "We send it to everyone." I could have made a bigger stink and got them to honor it since there was nothing saying "excluding Evos" but I was soo not in the mood (it's been a s hitty week and wasn't in the mood for confrontation, I let it go). Needless to say I'm done with that dealership. I know all 3 in town are owned by the same idiots, but the last few times we've been to Courtesy they have given us attitude (I don't know if it's because of the Evo issues other people are having or what but you mention you have that car now and they automatically present a different attitude towards you).

We ended up over at People's Mitsu off Centennial Pkwy. We talked to the service guy over there (his name is Ashley....he has an Apex Silver). Cool guy and being that he has an Evo himself I feel a little better going over there now if I need something. So, if anyone has to visit the devilship for some reason, I would suggest going there. We did ask him the warranty question as well and I got the same answer as the guy at Courtesy gave us back in March....as long as the issue isn't related back to the mod there shouldn't be a problem. I didn't ask for it in writing cuz I have a feeling they won't go for that but if anyone else can get them to do it, let me know!

Thanks for the update. I wonder if Ashley's Evo is modded? Maybe he can be on our side and join this board.

Question: I know your husband said he works for Discount Tire is it? I don't know if I need my wheels balanced. It's been a year but only 6000 miles. I rotated the tires once, but wonder if they could use a spin balance. I'm sure they need a slight adjustment. Can you ask him. Thanks, Allie.

Yeah, he's the manager at the Discount on Charleston & Rainbow. He said it couldn't hurt to balance them. He's done mine 2 or 3 times and I only have 7200 miles on my car...lol I know the 2nd time he did it they were way out of balance. He moved the weights to the inside of the rim the 2nd time (I like them better there). The last time he did it was right after we got back from a trip to Cali (put 1400 miles on it) and they were still pretty much right on for the most part.

He said if you want to come down and see him he'll do it for you free of charge. Just ask for Jeremy. FYI he's off on Wednesdays & Sundays.

Thanks, Allie. Will stop by sometime soon. I want tape weights on the inside also. I wanted to get it done by someone who will not scratch up my rims and knows how much us Evo owners love our cars.

All that means is if your widow stops rolling up and you have a MBC then they will fix it under warrenty. Don't expect them to drop in a new engine under warrenty.
