Dudes, the factory powder coat is good stuff. What makes you think that new paint, or Brembo refurbishing them will make it last? Maybe The peeling is unrelated to the color change when you heat them up, I don't know. Mine are discolored but not peeling.

There is a powder coater in springville that I get iPod backs powdercoated at, and I am doing a batch on backs this week or next week so I am thinking about putting my brembos in with them.

The factory powder coat doesn't look to be powder coat to me. It looks like a base coat clear coat process. The color isn't pealing on my calipers, only the clear coat. It may be a two stage powder coat, but I certainly wouldn't call it good stuff.

Don't be bitter because your car doesn't come stock with Brembos, or that it takes 1 ft more to brake from 60 mph and 9 ft more from 80 mph.

Dear Rob,

I went and looked at my brakes, I agree, they are not powder coated. I had powder coating on my mind because I just had to find someone to rush powder coat a prototype part for me "same day".

Regardless, the stock finish+ teh suck. I think I'm going to use high-temp spray chrome rattlecan.

2.) Finally adquired an Vishnu Exede, I know, <gasp!!!>, and a set of Vishnu <gasp!!!> cam gears. Both used about 2000miles. The gears have a little bit of tooth wear even for 2000miles. Nothing major, but I really don't want these gears to wear any more so ... some designer / machinest friends actually recommend sending the aluminum gears in for a hard anodize. (Al hard anodize is puke green color, but hey, natural carbon fiber is actually dark puke brown).
Anybody have any experience with hard Al anodize in this type of application?
Thanks,

1) You shouldn't need to "haxor" or cut anything, especially if the high-flow cat and downpipe are both Buschur too.

2) No, not me, never andonizerized anything

1. Exhaust is easy. If you want Buschur just make sure you get it with a flange and not slip fit. There are 1.09 billion exhausts out there, most work well. Scott's Perrin is nice, so is the Turbo XS stuff Ben has. A downpipe and Cat Delete are tasty, and go in without problem.

2. Why get an Xede with hardly any mods? Cam gears are Ghey, you don't need them. Adjustable cam gears just have the the chance of "adjusting" when you don't want them to. None of the local guys with cams have gears. Hard anodizing is good. You can color when anodizing, even when hard anodizing. You don't have to settle for Green. But I would pass on the gears and sell them to someone else.

in my opinion the buschur stuff is cheap!!! it works but there is better out there... cam gears are pointless... when you have timing control they are even gayer put your money toward something else. vishnu is not the best either in my opinion, but if you like both brands go for it.
