Utah Evos
I won't be making the COBB day, I'll actually probably be up in Park City... But if anyone knows if the PCA day has openings or not (the 18th... I think) I'll probably go to that if it has an opening.
Butterfield canyon, never heard of it... But I might come.
Canyons + night + deer = scary
yah i agree with you jake, i probably wont end up going i will be running all around slc tomorrow like a mad man trying to get my car together for the weeekend but jc went onto my account and posted that when i was in the bathroom haha
Hey I got an evo a few months ago ang I am thinking of getting some work done on it pretty soon. I am not good with cars, so I'd need a trustworthy shop that does good work.
Can you guys recommend a few good shops around here...I'd be willing to travel too, if there aren't that many good shops in UT. I would drive around 600 miles I guess so california is not out of the question.
I tried searching this thread and all I could find was stuff about this guy called "Al" and a shop called "Cobb" It seems like the Cobb place would be okay, seems like they are more for subaru though. The "Al" guy sounds like a jerk from what I read in this thread...that won't work too well for me.

lol
was it a guy in an sti or was it a guy in a 2.5 rs? i heard that 2 subies had bad canyon accedents this weekend
yup like cones and course workers
i have worked with 2 shops that i really like and would reccomend for different things there is also a 3rd shop that everyone loves but i am not exclusive enough to have him work on my car.
anyways for basic engine installs like intake exhaust cams bla bla bla i would take your car to solid autoworks. paul and noah are great guys and they do good work their number is 801-478-1270 and there shop is right in downtown slc. if you want to get your car tuned, i would go to munoa performance. they have a dyno and make awsome maps for our cars their number is 801-358-0738. then there is vesko who is too cool for me but i heard does the most amazing suspension work ever you would have to get his info from someone else.
also if you need parts solid will get you what you need or rallysportdirect has an awsome inventory their number is 801-748-4910
post if you have any quesions or feel free to pm me with q's about any parts enjoy modding the car!

Solid
Munoa
Competition
Cobb
That's the order of places I'd take my car (if I still had an Evo, that is)... Competition is great, but like blackdeath said, they're busy like crazy and they're also expensive. Solid is good because Paul, who works on the Evos, owns an Evo and works on it, so he at least knows his parts and where they go. Nothing beats having someone work on your car who you can say to "Hey, my car is doing this this and this"... "oh, that's something wrong with this right here..." bing "fixed." Solid did all of the later work on my car and from what I could tell they did a great job for a good price.
And yeah Jeremy, I said weird objects, not just cones, clearly you haven't been to many Utah Region Auto-xes... Course workers, cones, garbage, other spinning cars... You know, the works.
Plus, I swear those cones have to move... Otherwise how'd I hit so many?
