I took a bunch of pictures and made fun of the MR at the AutoShow... does that count? The new STi's look beautiful though. Anyone else go? I have a bunch of pictures if no one went and wants to see the main interesting things I saw (like how the Evo X has a HUGE muffler and "dual" exhaust) There's the extra weight right there. Other than a few little nit-picky things (all things that could be easily replaced) the black X MR was gorgeous that they had. Easily my second favorite looking car there for sure. The tail lights are the only thing I still am not really sure of, either them or the spoiler... I can't tell.

But... the winner of the show was the '08 "new" blue color Z06 for sure, most beautiful car I have ever seen.

Edit: I know I didn't mention it, but from the first batch of pictures on that thread from Jeremy it looks like the MR version just has an extra bunch of wheel gap.... Those pictures don't have nearly the wheel gap of the one I saw. But I also really don't like that blue color.

I asked the lady at Chevy about the ZR1, she was really *****y about it I asked why they didn't have one there... and she "politely" informed me that they only had two available for show right now, the one that sold at Barret Jackson and the one that's still in Detroit. Actually, she was just generally *****y. I asked if I could pop the hood on the Z06 and she let me, but then got pissy when I tried to close it myself. "I will close it so it is closed properly." I popped the trunk and people looked at me funny... Like "WTF, who looks at the trunk size of a Z06?" Good times, I loved the Auto Show, did anyone else go anyway? 7 bucks is a lot for how "lame" it is, but the 4 bucks it cost with coupons made it totally worth it.

I went, my fav for a DD was that blue 335xi Sedan. Nice ride for under 50k. Z06 by far the best bang for the buck. Was looking @ a new grocery getter for the wife I like the new Sequoia. Our Tahoe struggles a little when pulling up parleys (Lambs Cayon area is steep). For the money I will keep my Evo I still love driving it, hoping to get new suspension and hood this year.

Get another Evo for a grocery getter! Looks like a shopping cart anyway... I wish I could've kept mine as a second car... But DDing that thing for 3 years and racing it was getting tiring. Call me lame, but it was my only car, so if I had issues racing I was screwed, rather than having some other car to drive.

My favorite for DD when I was test driving was the 335i, the xi didn't feel anwhere near as quick or nimble, even though supposedly it is. Still a great car, but I needed AWD and something that felt sportier (and was cheaper). That, and for 10k+ less you can get a G35x or TL-S that aren't THAT much slower. Sure, you can get a basic 335i for 40k-ish... But to get an xi with decent equipment its around the 50k mark, if not higher. I remember the BMW guys thought I was funny because I wanted them to find an xi that had NO options on it, including having fake leather seats GASP! But, I did drive the 335i 3 seperate times and a 335xi once, which, is saying they were fun to drive.

I try to avoid the "bish I drive a porsche" comments... Unlike most 60 yr-old men I bought the car because I love Porsche and its fun to drive... I care not for the status it gives me (however entertaining that all is). Plus, I'm a whole lot more likely to get kicked in the face than a 60 yr-old man

And bish, I'm up at 5:45 am for work (well, I'm supposed to be here at 5:45... but... yeah) And then I just sit here on the computer waiting for phone calls, its why I went from like 1500 posts to 2000 in one month

Did you notice the insane wheel gap on the front of the MR Kodiak? And what did you think of the STi (that's the first time I'd seen one of those in person and got in it and crawled under it...) I missed the exotics booth though I was too slow.

It almost looks like they had 17's in the front and 18's in the back. If you get a 10 the first mod should be to lower it. STI to small for me, I need another couple of inches of leg room. I like the new look.

I have been around, I'm still enjoying my FickerFlash. I should be able to get a new suspension this year, I need more neg camber to keep up with you.

I like the new look too, I'm just a sucker for the hatchbacks lately I guess... Just like the STi more is all.

As a side note: URABUS_ is available as a personalized license plate Brandon

It was silver and looked to have wheels and exhaust, couldn't make much else out though. I turned around to get a closer look and pulled into a near by parking lot. Apparently, I had pulled in right next to the other car involved in the accident. Some girl in a white cobalt. Her friend almost seemed pissed at me for pulling up next to them in another evo, probably assuming I was friends with the other driver heh.

Anyway, sorry to whoever the owner is, hopefully its fixed up and back on the road soon.
It was my car. My wife was running to UPS for me (she has only driven my car like 5 times BTW) and pulled out in to traffic but didn't see the cobalt. Long story short the car was hit on the driver side front corner and was just deemed totaled today My wife was lucky and did not have a scratch. Thank God!

It really sucks, I did not want to say good bye to this car so soon but now I have to move on and pick out a new car.

Lets here some suggestions for my new ride. below is some criteria.

-fun to drive
-four doors
-25k to 33k
-must be able to fit a bmx bike

I already ruled out the EVO X because the trunk is tiny (seriously it is a joke) I will also not by another IX due to the poor performance in the crash (my wife and daughter ride w/ me 70% time)

Sorry about your car! That really sucks. Glad no one was hurt though. Now by fun to drive do you mean "LTD big boat anchor land yaught" fun to drive?! Cuz that would be safe, has a huge trunk, the two doors are large enough to fit two people through at the same time, but probably hard to find with low miles. I have an 81 Cadillac I "pimp"! Seriously though, good luck on your decision.
