He guys just got my evo all done and got it home and on the way home it kept dying on my when i would get to a stop light, why?

 

Would the RPMs drop a lot? And then it would stutter and die? Are you tuned? Do you have gas/good gas in the tank? Are there any problems while you are driving (pulling timing and other weird issues)? Or does it just happen when you are stopped? Is it only when you are stopped, or anytime the clutch is pushed in or the car is in neutral (meaning if you are going down a hill and put it in neutral for a while does it stall and die?) From my very small amount of knowledge the first thing I would point at without knowing more is your tune, but there are a ton of things it could be.

Or were you just popping the clutch while it was still in gear?

 

My big problem is i dont know if it is tuned or not cause i just bought the car wrecked and just got done fixing it so this is like the first time i have had it on the road but while i am driving it it seems fine. It does it anytime you let the RPMs get real low like when you push in the clutch or are in neutral

 

i just found something on another thread about if the battery died which it did you need to let the ecu relearn the idle map so i am trying that right now.

 

Well i think letting the ECU relearn the idle thing fixed it but thanks anyway Ut_Evo

So I race with a few friends last night (on a close road where its legal to race ) and (Speeds not exceeding the speed limit) I race a kid from Organ with a Supra and walked on him so hard, My good friends STI Stayed Doors with his race car, and a friends 87 BMW 325IS that is stock motor with a Cummins Turbo on it He was on 8 psi I think and was pulling on me I said he got the jump on me and we should go again. We did and He didn't tell me that he turned up the boost to 12 psi. He was just spinning through 2 and 3 and started hooking up in 4th Then he was soo gone it wasn't funny. any way he bought the car for $1800 and has spent less than $1000 making the turbo kit and the car looks completely stock wheels and everything. You can't really see the FMIC and you really don't notice that he has no muffler and he has dark tinted windows. But the car is so fun and fast and he is in the car about 3k and it has 170k on the motor still. I think I am going to get one now and just have fun.

 

what turbo do you have? what is SCM6152e?
