Utah Evos
I've purchased both types of hoses and the difference is negligible - so long as the hose is well cared for. But - I'm not much of a gardner and for many reasons my example can be picked apart.
What does still stand is that exhaust is essentially exhaust. You may well be better served taking the money you saved by going the custom route and buying parts where the name brand can and does matter - cams/tune etc. So long as the custom setup is using high quality components, the difference will be minimal, and your wallet will be like...way huge.

He (why do I assume it's a guy? stereotypes ftl) said he's picking up the car next week AFTER it gets tuned, so I assume its getting tuned.
This is going to sound a bit offensive and its not meant to but please don't cite 10 years experience in this as a reason to continue over paying for exhaust. Most people who have that much experience just *build their own* exhaust. My buddies custom setup on his VIII looks very similar to the pic of the exhaust you posted. It's pretty clear we are going to have to agree to disagree about the exhaust thing, but thanks for the input and the civil conversation. Its nice that they can still exist on the internet somewhere.

Does anyone in the group have permission to use the high school parking lot? I could be way off here in my understanding but, I've been told in the past that high school grounds are not technically public property and can't be used for congregating after hours. Would just be kind of a drag to have the cops show up and ticket everyone for having a good time.

I'm telling ya - for the cost of that single nvidia tbe you could get cams, a flash and and an exhaust. Your money = your party but the tone and sound you get is pretty much all on the muffler and the presence or lack thereof of a cat and resonator. Big companies would like to have you believe that there was much "engineering" and R and D but its piping. They all pick the same amounting of piping and they all basically look very much the same. The concept is simple: straight as possible, minimizing bends. There's the 900.00 in R and D right there. Would you pay extra money for a more scientifically engineered garden hose? I wouldn't - basically the same thing. If you go to a local shop and have it done you are also circumventing the whole "well I only buy american products" argument which is pretty retarded to say while tacking it on to a mitsubishi. I can pretty much assure you that the gains to be had on going with a big name exhaust are minimal at best and can easily be overcome with the mods you can afford to do with the car having saved the money on your exhaust.
Oh, yeah, and to each their own! Do what makes you happy. Blow your money on what gives you warm fuzzies. i.e. hookers, booze, rubber cement, porno, candy, whatever!
These events went all last summer at the same location without any problems so it should be all good, I have no clue if mitch has talked to the school I was just posting this for him since he doesn't have account here.

But, using the garden hose example, I'd much rather pay double to buy a garden hose that's been more scientifically engineered to never get kinks, that is guarenteed to never tear or cut, will fit perfect in any "hose" system, and instead of being round when there is no pressure have it go flat... When your 20 dollar garden hose is tearing apart and leaking, my 40 dollar garden hose will still be washing my car, so who really paid more?
Seriously, I came home and a dog was pissing on my ***damn tulips! I hit that ****er with a shovel then I knitted a *****en squirrel trap to catch those little fart-knockers to keep them from eating my acorn welcome mat! I use the super expensive scientificalllllllly engineered rubber cement for sniffing, er, I mean gluing... stuff.
You can build a better exhaust than the big companies (it might cost more, it might cost less) you just have too know what your doing. Turbo exhaust are easier than n/a exhaust, just go big for no backpressure. Air flows like water (it sticks too the sides of the pipe and swirls like your toilet and bath tub) the diameter dictates flow, whatever restrictions you put in the way (bends, muffler styles) limit the horsepower you release (the horsepower is already there, if it goes out your exhaust, or your cooling system, depends on diameter of the pipe, and flow).
and hey maybe I'm just a brat when it comes to parts sometimes.I'll check with my friend in vegas. He's got the 35r and been using the aem ems for a few years. I'll try to talk to him tonight we were just playing gta iv and he got offline

if you haven't got it tuned yet then eficker on here who's tuned many of our cars can do it
, the evo I'm picking up next week is actually Rob's car.
to each his own. Trust me I've been doing this for 10yrs now starting with hondas...omg that makes me sound really old. Bottom line I prefer not to take any shortcuts on my car. And does your custom exhaust look this pretty?
