I wish we had a dyno sheet to share; I certainly would if I had one. All we have is 6 months of road testing and practice and a full season of racing with documented results to show the yields from our modifications.

Unfortunately dynos are few and far between for us, I had to swap out the Aperture on my lunch break in the middle of a way to busy work week. I wish I had time to run to the dyno every time we made a change but reality is we don’t.

So, from someone that’s done nothing but try to drive the **** out of his car (for a plastic trophy) for the past year to anyone that is contemplating making this change in his garage with common hand tools, DO IT!

The improvement that you will realize is going to feel as if you’ve done a muffler delete mod on an otherwise stock car. I think everyone that has used the Aperture (and documented it in some way) from Al to the WORKS can agree that this is a fair and honest analogy of the amount of improvement you will actually feel in your car.

Ted - as a fellow Evo owner and racer, this is a good mod, we wouldn’t kid you on this type of deal.

Rest assured the question was neither a challenge nor baited.

At the present, I am on the verge of the power limits of the turbo. I was wondering what (if anything) there is to be gained from this mod, and how the same has been (if so) quantitated. I am in a position whereby I can dyno test this mod with my present setup, but I'm not keen to spend the $345 if I'm not going to get a quantifiable return.

I have the original P2. I've since added 2.5" turboback. Would the Aperture (and the associated updated flash) be a benefit for me? Still talking something like 10whp?? Where is the power at? Across the band, or down low??

Ted - If your that far along in power mods you might want to check out the Aperture II, its even bigger, designed for use with larger aftermarket intake manifolds. Again, just my 2 cents but I think the original Aperture works best with a stock cam/ turbo combination or a mild cam/ stock turbo combination.

Yes, the Aperture (and free reflash) would benefit you. The power comes across the band with an added crispness in throttle response. WORKS has typically seen 10HP with the Aperture with a stock-to-mild car and even more with highly modified cars. I am doing my best to acquire the dyno comparisons to back up these claims. Stay tuned!
