CEL fix?

Does Works offer a Check Engine Light fix by reflash for test pipes or EGR removal?

I'd love to get rid of the EGR system to clean up my engine compartment but from what i read, there is no fix for the CEL it will cause. And CEL's bug the hell out of me. I have a mechanical fix for my test pipe but a reflash would of been much easier.

We are currently working on the CEL. This is the first request for the EGR though.

None at the moment. SEMA, Time Attack and the release of the IX have us swamped. It's going to be at least another month before we persue things further.

Is there a flash to fix the rear O2 CEL yet?

Just do the mechanical o2 fix. Get 2 spark plug antifoulers (Brand: Help! PN 42009) and drill a 1/2" hole in one. You essentially screw the one with the small whole into the bung first. Then the one with the hole you drilled, followed by the 02 sensor. This will get it far enough from the path (but not too far!) of the exhaust to remove the check engine light. Do some google searches and you will see it. You will also see some on ebay.

anyone know if just one anti-fouler will work? so i don't have to take a hammer to the underside of the car! i may just try it and see...

also (semi OT), a friend of mine told me that not having a cat will mean i'll have to replace my exhaust within the next three years. something about the exhaust being eaten through or basically rotted away. I'm 99% sure that he's just dumb, but i thought i'd make sure.

It might work, you should give it a shot. I'm running the double anti-foulers and they've worked perfect for the last 5k miles. I'd still love to have a flash that would disable the CEL. It would be nice to get rid of the anti-foulers or maybe the rear o2 sensor all together.

Even with just one it's kind of tight. You might want to try the two kinds, the 42002 is slightly longer than the 42009. If you use just one, the longer one probably has a better chance of fixing the CEL.

The hammer work sounds worse than it is. It made a nice indentation on the side of the transmission tunnel and a slight bump under the carpet and passenger seat.

As for stainless steel rotting / rusting... don't think so - it will probably outlast the car.

I bought a different brand and we'll see how it works out... if not, the hammer will have to do.

as for stainless steel, thats what i thought.
