I have the Helix HF cat. It worked fine for 8k miles then after adding intake and some other mods, SES light pops up. Not sure if mods cause HF cats to throw SES or the cat just can't do it's job anymore. It seems like I'm getting random P0420 just like the P0300 code some people are having.

Maybe Works can program the P2 to ignore the P420 code or figure out why only some Evo's with HF cat throw SES.

Well, on the WRP Brain Flash RL on WORKS website, here is what they said:

-Factory RPM limit
-Boost/fuel cut limit (This is the actual map where we can set a hard ceiling. We are not merely delaying the grace period which can cause catastrophic failure)
-Two stage rev limiter ('05 available now, '03-'04 coming soon)
-Rear O2 sensor defeat (coming soon)

So it seems that they are trying to come up with the flash to defeat that. Hopefully soon, but we all know what "soon" really means. Still, I do appreciate how WORKS does spend the time to ensure that their product is safe and proven even if it takes a bit longer for the product to come out.

I got a CEL from my Ultimate Racing HFC but the way I see it, thats a good thing because that means its flowing a lot more than stock. I used one anti fouler cause I didnt have room for 2 and that took care of the light.

My UR HFC came with the CEL fix Plug since I ordered a an LPI test pipe along with the HFC. The anti-fouler plug is the long type and it fits perfectly in my mid pipe. I installed the HFC, the JIC dp and the Invidia cat-back and I have no CEL yet.

The WORKS HFC is intended to be a fully functional catalytic converter. We did several thousands of miles of testing with a few different designs before committing to this one. I know I've got over 16K on mine without seeing the P0420 and a few of our customers have significantly more miles on theirs.

Jamie, what about some of the Evo owners experiencing a CEL with the
WORKS HFC ?

Just to let you know, I have a couple of other WORKS products on my Evo.

Honestly, I can't explain it without knowing some more info--mods, type(s) of fuel used, miles, etc...

That's actually a bad thing because the cat isn't doing its job. You may not pass emissions. You might as well buy a test pipe.

How many miles do you actually have on the HFC?

I've had about 20k miles on my HFC, and no cat-related SES lights. (Just a big pile o' P0300 codes.)

I have the Works HFC and have never had a CEL, putting around 15,000 miles on it. Lately my friend "got boost" has been getting them with his Works HFC. He has the works DP, and cat back also.. along with GFB BOV and 272 cams, stock ecu. Seems like this is only happening to some people.
