HFC and check engine light
I've been running a Works HFC for months now. I have the flash and everything. Recently, my CEL came on, and I donated $85 to my local Mitsu dealer to find out that I have a problem with my cat.
I unscrewed the rear sensor in the IP, and sprayed it clean with brake cleaner. Reset the ecu and voila - problem went away. I figured that the sensor was fouled. Now the problem is happening more and more frequently.
Anyone else have this problem with their HFC? Is there a better way to clean off the O2 sensor?

Here's a possible fix for people with the same problem...

I have the same problem with the Helix HF cat. Right now I'm running stock cat and sell the the Helix.
I think the problem is too much exhaust is going through the cat and the ECU thinks there's a problem but can't be sure unless someone do a sniff test.

I've been running the Works HFC for more than 10k miles (yes, 15k miles) and have never seen a CEL because of it... I have heard that other "HFC" cause the CEL to come on, so I have also like others stayed away from them. Not to take business away from the dealerships, but go to autozone or Shucks (i think they are called kragen in Sac. CA) the price that they charge to pull the code from the car can't be beat... free!
Bump...........
Any updates on the Works HFC and CELs ?
One minute I've convinced myself that I want to go with a full 3" Works TBE with HFC (and Works O2 housing
) and then I read all these horror stories about CELs popping up left-right-and-center (not with the Works' HFC in particular, but HFCs in general) and I'm back to thinking about keeping the stock cat.
I'm also a little concerned about the temperature stability of the Works ceramic HFC base (compared to a stainless one).
Anyone here regret going the HFC route, rather than staying with the stock cat ?
