The filter are out of stock at the moment. They sold better than anticipated! I'll contact you once WORKS has them back in stock (hopefully soon). If anyone else wants to be added to the list, please send me a PM. Thanks.

Does anybody know if this filter does a better job of filtering dirt particles than the K&N drop-in? I've stopped using my K&N drop-in after reading about K&N's poor abilty to filter out smaller dirt particles.

So have I for the same reason.

Also read about oil in the MAF.

Besides the 25% extra surface area, what makes the WORKS better than K&N ?

Interesting article about filters.

When it comes to truth in advertising I would certainly agree with this guy. However, I’ve used K & N and similar type filters for over 35 years. I never lost a motor due to premature wear induce by the air filtration system, never.

Now with that said I believe that air filtration is like every other performance mod, do I need it for what I’m doing and what are the pros and cons? I do firmly believe and understand the pros and cons of everything from OEM filters to open blowers and would certainly stick with the OEM filtration system for daily drivers and some modded cars. We did with our Evo and the stock filter worked great.

But now we race 24/7, we clean and maintain filters more times in one year than most people do the entire time they own one! We could never have cleaned paper elements before and after events like we do washable ones. Another big issue for a racer, maintenance, no way could we have afforded to maintain filters at 100% condition over that many years, way too much money, not even practical. But again, I know from some 35 years of racing that I’ll change the rings just for GP long before the normal factory milestone of a daily driver.

I guess the funny thing about this mod is that most everyone leaves out the fact that with more air volume or flow comes everything else that’s in it too! So basically it’s the nature of the beast. The real problem with oiled filters comes when they start to dry out. Those extra dust particles will erode the filler material and create small holes in the filter, now your suckin’ real dirt.

One thing I really like about this report is it busts down the old bull**** about a K and N working better after its dirty, hogwash! Keep that sucker cleaned and oiled properly at all times. Never let the filter turn black with dirt and grime, this is the very condition that starts the erosion.

So would I run one on a daily driver down in the desert areas of Southern California? No. In areas of high dust you really need to consider that con, but in the Bay Area or Central Cali I wouldn’t give it a second thought. Would I take the WORKS or K & N filters out of our Evo or any of our street cars based on this report, not even!

Installed, not much of a butt-dyno difference really. . .I think with a flash, it'll gain the most for sure. Stock paper element had a ton of dead bugs in it, cracked me up! Given I'm a newbie, it took me awhile (more than 1 minute, I have to admit embarassingly) to figure out what direction it goes in. . .

WORKS packaged and explained everything very thorougly, I was quite pleased.

I HAVE noticed slighly better hwy mileage, so this might pay itself off in the end. . . maybe 3mph more or so. . .so over 12 gallons, that's 36 more miles to the tank, YEAH!

I'm really itching to get a P2 flash and a Aperture 2 Throttle body. . . .

is the P2 is an ECU flash or a piggy back? ie, can I switch it out for warranty repairs? how does the dealer detect a flash anyways?
