SEMA and Time Attack Revisited
WORKS had a busy few weeks with SEMA and the Super Street Magazine TIME ATTACK sponsored by Toyo tires. SEMA was successful in showcasing the new WORKS Supercharger Kit for the 2.4 liter MIVEC engine. At the Time Attack, WORKS collaborated with Japan’s Cyber Evo Crew and came in First Place in the Limited All-Wheel-Drive Class. Look for more details and complete specs in the upcoming WORKS newsletter in January 2006.
With less than 10 days to fully prepare a race car from two stripped Evos, the entire WORKS crew managed to pull off an impressive feat. A huge thanks to everyone who helped make it happen: Cyber Evo, our sponsors, and the entire staff who worked after hours until the job was done! Talk about tuner transformation, who knows what could have been done if we had 13 weeks, like the three competing tuners on Speedchannel.
The WORKS Evo wrapped up the Toyo Tire Challenge for the best time on Toyo tires and was the fastest car with a factory ECU (no piggybacks & no aftermarket engine mgt. systems). Our tuning philosophy is shared by others such as our Cyber Evo friends that the Factory ECU in the hands of capable engineers can compete at the highest levels of motorsport. The WORKS P2 Brain Flash was put to the test and proved it’s mettle as a force to be reckoned with. Eiji “Tarzan” Yamada, WORKS' Evo driver, described the car as, “good balance, smooth engine... very strong”.
The TA Evo is currently on display at the SF Autoshow in the SCCA section through Sunday Nov. 27th:
