Works GFB BOV need manual oiling?

Can someone at Works or a fellow GFB bov owner comment on if we need to manually add oil to the bov every couple months? The manual isnt clear if we need to do that with our evos. Thanks!

This is the best bov on the market. Problem is, you have to dissasemble it every other month. The tollerences are so tight, that as soon as the brass piston gums, your done. I have had mine for 2 years. From a 30psi 35r to the stocker. it is the only one i have ever bought that works PERFECT, all the time, every time. Untill it needs cleaned.....Its a pita to clean it, but i got it down to about 10 minutes. If you ever see these for sale cheap, its because its dirty and that person needs to overhaul it........Ray

if it works perfect, then you dont need to clean it. Mine will go bad on me after a few months and when i clean it, it works like new again. Get some allen wrenches and just start taking out screws. It comes apart easy. Take a picture however. Going back together can get confusing. There are a few o-rings that you should grease also...

Hi Ray, any major symptons of it needing cleaning? Ive never cleaned mine and Ive had it for awhile. So its not as simple as the manual says of putting some oil in the vent opening?

If you want to do a quicky job, WD-40 the piston. This will break up the gummyness and lube it, but i find that taking it apart is better. If it doesnt work like the day you put it on clean it. You may be surprised.
