Why the delay?

Just curious as to why there is such a long delay in the brain flash for the IX? Every other vendor has had them out for a long time. Is there a problem with the works flash or is there going to be something different?

Not every vendor has them, only AL does. I think Vishnu is still at ECUtek. Works is a great product and they consider every little detail thats why they take their time. They do a lot of research and they support their products %100.

They've been available for a little while now. Just check the applications at the bottom of each page.

Actually, the flash is not ready for the IX. heck previous posts. The ecutek flash is but not the brain flash. And every other vendor does have them. Turbo trix offers it. Vishnu has it. Dynoflash has it. Anybody have an answer?

The other vendors are all using the ECUTek flash - which WORKS stated they had for the IX as well. Why do you have a preference on what flashing tool WORKS uses on your IX?

I know which flash tool they use, I was just curious as to why they were delaying so long in comparison to dynoflash. I am planning on using Works for all my upgrades, I was simply inquiring as to why such a delay while other vendors have already come out with their own.

The reflash equipment is different then the EVO 8. So you have to buy a new flashing machine for just the EVO 9, since the EVO 10 may have another ECU interface. That's what makes ECUtek so appealing for the EVO 9.

That sounds plausible, but doubtful in my mind. Dynoflash immediately had a flash for the IX and as good as his work is, he is not as big as Works nor does he have the development resources they have. I'm sure there has to be another reason. At least I hope so.

Works is known to take their time. don't rush it there is no reason. enjoy it for now and when you master the power you have then add power.

If I recall correctly, Dynoflash and other tuners are using the ECUTek flash tool for the IX just like WORKS is currently using. If you prefer a flash using Techtom software, well then obviously you're going to have to wait a bit longer.

I have already owned an 03 Evo and 05 Sti, so I don't think I have to get used to the power of the IX. And I wasn't being impatient, just curious. But thanks anyway.

Luckily, no one ever stated that Dynoflash is ECUTek, otherwise Al would be paying himself a licensing fee for every car he flashes. But, just like the other Evo tuners out there, WORKS and Dynoflash both use the ECUTek AND Techtom flashing software in order to tune Evos.

I hope you don't think they just magically tune cars without using commercial software to do so. Most tuners aren't generally software devs.
