Works Exhale system

Just some questions. Any recorded weight loss over stock? Sound clips? Product material (steel type)?

I'll try to weigh them both soon... the weight savings are substantial, to say the least. Material is T-304 Stainless Steel throughout including the tip, hanger, flange, piping -- everything! No sound files online yet, but give us a call and I'll fire her up for you!

I was looking at the pic. Is that the whole exhaust shown? Looks like a axle back from the pic. The price seems cheap for a full cat back or turbo back so I'm kinda .

Nice pics of my car!!

The exhale really adds a nice throaty tone, not too loud nor tinny like those supersized exhausts on those supermodded Hondas, etc.

It does add more noise thoughout [come on guys, what do you expect when the muffler is gone] but overall, i loved it, my wife and kids have no objections and this is coming from an old man in this young crowd!!

If you want make sure it is not too loud take three minutes to remove your muffler. It is very simple. The car is not loud without the muffler so I would guess the exhale would be similar.
I don't know why the car has a muffler, it doesn't do much.

Are you guys at WORKS gonna make the rest of the exhaust available in the future? I haven't seen the dyno #'s on the Exhale, but it just seems to me a axle back isn't gonna make that much power. Unless the muffler is the only restrictive part of the exhuast.

I heard its worth about 10whp on a stock Evo.

That makes sense as Pruvens axle-back makes about the same whp. The axle-backs actually seem to make about as much power as the cat-backs so it does appear that the back-box is indeed a very restrictive component of the stock system.

If you aren't planning on doing more than a cat-back then I think the Exhale is a great option.Even if you are looking for further gains through additional exhaust mods, I have to believe that Works will also be introducing some kind of DP, and possible race cat in the future to compliment the rear pipe.

Like Corey, I am also interested in any updates on future exhaust components, and more generally would love to have some insight into future Works mods in development.

To be fair to David/Works its a pretty fine line as to the appropriate timing for announcing future mods. Providing too much info too early creates unrealistic customer expectations, and results in frustrated and dissapointed customers. Too little info too late can unfortunately result in customers buying other tuners products.

Overall I do agree with Works approach to being a little more cautious with the release of new parts to ensure better customer satisfaction in the long run.

I'm just wondering being if there is gonna be a down pipe available in the future, I might just wait til them and get my ECU tuned to 93 oct, axle back, and the down pipe. This is my everyday car and I can't have it down a bunch of different times for stuff like this.

I will have to say, I really like the way WORKS is going about things. They seem to have alot of research going on and really high quality products for our cars. I'm just curious what else you guys have in store for the Evo.

Basically, I'm looking for one and one tuner to go with and so far WORKS has my eye on them for right now. I'm one of those people that uses the same brand on everything. I don't like mis matching stuff together.

It seems that people are getting minimal gains by removing or replacing the cat and most gains are seen at the muffler. This is of course with a stock or close to stock setup. I remember hearing someone dyno'd completely stock and w/o the cat and no difference was recorded.

Ok I have to ask this. If the stock "can" doesn't do much then how in the world can this new pipe give you 10 HP? It looks more like and anti resonator than a muffler to me. After all if I look into the stock exhaust pipe tip I can see no restriction what so ever, just a straight through path. Is there sufficient boundry layer disruption in the stock unit to lose power? BTW I like the deep low throb like drone that I get at idle, it sounds mean.
