Ses?

I just got my first Service Engine Soon(SES) light on my 05. The car has 23,500 miles and has been flashed with a P2 since about 8K with the only other engine mods at that time being the Works Stealth ABM and air filter. At about 21K, I added a 3 inch DP, HFC, 3 inch IP, but I kept the Stealth ABM. The car has seen a number of track days from completely stock to the latest mods with absolutely no engine/drivetrain issues. Saturday, I put on a Works Exhale ABM. As soon as I fired it up, the SES went on and it has stayed lit. It seems to run fine and feels (totally subjective) to pull a bit better just from changing to the Exhale muffler.

I guess I need to get the error code identified and then cleared, but even with those somewhat minimal mods going to a dealer does not seem like a good idea. The car is running good, but I am a bit leary of driving it too much until I get the error code identified. I can't believe just changing the ABM would cause the SES light to go on, but then again I don't believe in coincidences and it is seemingly the only "variable".

Any suggestions or ideas?

Sorry, I advertantly posted this in your Norcalevo.net vendor forum.

Thanks in advance.

Only thing is to have the code read to see what it says...Just hit up autozone or somewhere to pull the code...F- the dealership. Did you do any O2 sensor fix when you did the HFC?

Yea, there is a sensor downstream of the HFC which I presume is for O2. Like I said, several thousand miles since install of the DP/HFC/IP including 2 track days without any SES light before just putting on the ABM.

Hmm. that caused my immediate ses light, used an antifouler and prob. solved. Did you get a chance to get the code pulled?

You need to pull the code, plain and simple. Plus, go get yourself an OBD scanner for $50-60 at Autozone or some other place. It's good to have around anyway for a newer vehicle.

Also, have you been re-flashed for the additional mods since your 1st flash? If I understand you correctly you have not been re-flashed.

Ses

Reflashed with the DP/HFC/IP. Yea, I know I need to get the code identified. Just got done working about 22 hours the last 2 days, so I have not gotten to it yet. Definitely not going to the track again in January unless this is resolved. Still don't see how adding an ABM could have triggered the SES, but clearly that is the correlation.

Thanks

Try disconnecting the battery for about 30 seconds, and reconnect and see if the light comes back. This will give the ecu a chance to re-learn the new parameters with the ABM on there. Pull the code first if your curious to see what it is.

I'd mark it up as coincidence that the light came on with the ABM. There aren't any sensors back there to trigger a code.
