Works Shifter Bushing Compound

WORKS guys, explain to me the difference in the WRP Urethane in the Works shifter bushings, compare to regular urethane and poly-urethane. I'm at a cross road on deciding which one to buy! Oh, is there any deals on the whole setup (Shifter base & Cable bushings)

There's a vast array of polyurethane compounds available. We're leaning a little softer than what's used on our WRP suspension components (although significantly harder than the OEM rubber) on the cable/console bushings. Additionally, the process used to create the compound yields fewer air bubbles and a smoother finish, which leads to a more consistent product.

The cable bushings are also unique in that they incorporate a self-lubricating metal sleeve. Without the sleeve, we found that the urethane tends to bind and needs frquent lubrication--and even then isn't as easy to shift as we'd like. Going all metal leaves no give in the system, which can lead to excessive/premature wear on surrounding components. The WORKS cable bushings take the best of each (precision of the metal with the flexibility of the urethane) for a superior product.

We've considered packaging these items, but haven't officially done so. If you're looking to pick up both, we can probably work out some sort of discount

I just bought the cable bushing plus the console bushings along with the WORKS clutch hose and grab shift knob and nobody offered me any discount (Not even a decal in the box.)

In any case I think their products are top notch and are well/fully engineered and track tested. The cable bushing and hose will go in with my new ACT HDSS+Streetlite.

I installed the console bushings in about 15 minutes and they made a HUGE DIFFERENCE in my 2005 MR.

We'll see about that... It would be nice, but not necessary. If their watching this thread I can confirm with my receipt #4168.

I've spent alot of time drooling over goodies on their site. I'll be vacationing up near their facilities later in the year... Maybe time for some EVO goodness.

I just installed the cable bushings, and the grab shift knob. I thought i ordered the console bushings but im a big idiot and forgot to double check the cart. The bushings went in rather easily, and there is a definite difference. Also i was told by the rep i got the last 6-speed shift knob

Does anyone have a picture of the shifter cable bushing installed? Is the cotter pin the only thing that constrains the top half bushing from coming off the cable end?

don't have a picture but just did the install this past weekend. yes, only the pin contrains it.
