Works 269 Cams Dyno Numbers?

Has anyone made the jump and put these cams on their car? If so, do you have any dyno numbers to post?

Did it yesterday along with the P2... Butt dyno likes it and now i can really pull my friend with his e46 M3 with exhaust, BMC intake and upgraded ECU.

I wish WORKS had some dyno numbers, but 269 sounded like a pretty cool set up.

FYI, Brice at Alamo Autosports (Texas Tuner) had a few questions for Pete regarding the manufacturing of the cams ( At this time I cannot say more). He is still waiting to hear from him.

If I was you, I might hold off untill Pete calls Brice and answer his questions.

My car was dyno'd with a load of parts including the 269 cams and the P2. I'm going to pick up the dyno sheets from Works when I get a chance, and will then get them up here.

So how does the car perform?

What did Brice think was wrong with them RoundPro? From what I have seen Works makes some damn good products.

Did you have the springs and retainers installed at the same time?

Well, the car baseline dyno'd around 230whp, and then after the upgrades did around 285whp.

This is with:

100.910 Brain Flash 91 Octane
101.002 Brain Flash P2 Upgrade
125.201 Vent Dual Valve
130.100 Aperture Throttle Body
136.301 WORKS Power Cams
140.200 Exhale DP
140.400 Exhale IP
140.500 Exhale AB

165.102 Clutch Kit C2
165.103 Spin Flywheel
165.500 Clutch Line Stainless

230.300 Swaybar Set
260.500 Croxx Plate

280.101 Front Brakes Pads
280.102 Rear Brakes Pads
280.400 Brake Lines Stainless

So 55+ whp from the P2, Exhaust, Cams, and Throttle Body.

And fyi, one of the main reasons I went with works was that they offered a package that was comprehensive over Engine, Exhaust, Clutch, Suspension and Brakes.

Before I changed to all season (ContiExtremeContact) tires, I took a drive up in the foothills and it handled perfectly. Basically, I wanted with this first stage to have something like the UK FQ330 which has more power (obviously) and nearly perfect cornering. This is exactly what I got.

When I was driving the foothills I had as much power as I wanted, could corner like no other (the advans started slipping, no under/oversteer, perfect.).

The idle is audible (which is expected) but is only barely lumpy. It defintely isn't annoying, and that's after driving to Tahoe and back (the trip on the way there being almost stopped in traffic).

Will Works give you the absolute most power for the cost without regard for the longlivity of the car? No. Will they preserve the nature of the car, make it perform even more amazingly, and support there work with great customer service? Yes.

Yep, that's the Works Catalogue right there, Lord Stockdale.

How do you like those Works brake pads? When I was looking at them and compared them to the Carbotech Bobcats, the Works pads seemed nearly twice as expensive, but I cannot figure out how exactly they are better.

Well. It definitely stops well I don't really have any basis for comparison with the pads, I never ran stock with the added mods, and I havn't thrashed my new pads yet (still being fairly nice to my car after the mods). The only noticable difference is some squeaking on weak braking (goes away when I brake harder).

I'll give you a ride on the 24th and we'll make a judgment

jstockdale, I've been talking with pete at works with about the same set-up. What was total installation time for mods. Also could you PM me the cost you paid for your set-up including labor.

I've tried to get this info from them and I never get a straight answer from Works.... Thanks

I would have hoped for more personally. The P2 should have gotten you like 25whp. I think that's pretty average. The exhaust I'd hope for close to 10whp, and the Cams - well nobody knows yet. I'd want at least 30whp from them for the price. Anybody with me on this one?

Nice setup though - got me envious!!!

You can't just add **** up, it doesn't work like that You can't say 'well exhaust gives 20 and intake gives 10 so I expect 30' because it ain't gonna happen in the real world. However, I am with you on the numbers as they do seem low.

Stockdale,,,,,,,,,,,

How loud is your exhaust? Do you have the stock cat on it?

the works IP dosnt have any resinators. Also how did the DP fit, is it close to theoil pan, and how much clerance/clerence did it have with the support ties?

Thanks
