catalytic converter replacement

I noticed a rattle while driving at low speed yesterday. I was sure that it sounded like a bad strut mount, so I took it over to a friends house. When he got the car lifted it turned out that the converter rattled when he rapped with his knuckles.

The check engine light has been coming on and going out for several months, and had stayed on for the last month. The code was for "insufficient catalyst". If I would have gotten the code read when it first started I could have had a free replacement, but now I'm over 80,000 miles.

So, I need a converter (no, I'm not going to replace it with a section of pipe). How's this one look? I'm surprised at how cheap it is, and I wouldn't have to pay anyone to install it since it's a complete bolt on. The photo looks like it corrects that flattened piece on the stock pipe too, and the description says that it's a "high flow" converter.

The price is $273.79. I don't know what the shipping would be; I couldn't find a link for that.

looks right...might be cheaper to just get a cat and have it welded to the down/mid pipe and bolted to the rest. The price is not bad though.

x2... if your flexpipe and dp are okay just buy a replacement cat and have it welded on. it'll save you some money for sure.

Yeah, Magnaflow makes good stuff. I have used their converters before, and they lasted longer than the ones from the muffler shop.
