Ac/heater motor?

My I have the ac/heat on there's a grinding noise/rattling noise. But the heat and air DOES work. Should I take it in for warranty work? I just bought it and it has 37k miles so I think that part is out of warranty? Or is it covered under powertrain?

Sounds like the fan and something might be stuck in there.

No part of the A/C or Heat is covered under powertrain.

If it is associated with the climate control system, then it would be out of warranty. I know you just bought the car, so you could go back to the dealership and see if they will fix the issue. Its a long shot, but if it is a good dealership they won't want a bad reputation of selling shoddy vehicles.

Yeah, if anything they could at least help you out a little with the cost since you just bought the car. It sounds like it just needs a new blower motor, which shouldn't be too expensive anyway, so no worries.

I have a similar issue. About 2 weeks ago after car sits overnight and when I get ready to go to work in the morning I cut the car on and of course ac because it's already 90F outside I hear rattling squealing on the compressor. When I turn it of it stops then again when I turn it on it starts. This isssue only happens once per day always after car sits over night. So let's say I would go to the grocery store and come back in 10 min it would never do it again that day. I will try to record it on my iPhone and see what the dealership says. Ac is cold and heat is hot just makes this noise. It's not the belt either. 2009 lancer ralliart 45k miles
