A quick Google showed crank/cam shaft positioning error. How well equipped are you for tools?

OK so car was running way under power this morning and like as I would push the gas and it didn't went to go. Went back out at lunch and the car wouldn't even start!!! I'm thinking like camshaft or crankshaft sensor??? Any ideas? I will stay after work tomorrow and check on it more since like I said I work at a garage. Just trying to get an idea where to start or direction to go in????

If you can run a systems diagnostic and get an idea of what's going on that will help the most...most likely your sensor gave up the ghost it sounds like...unfortunately I have no geuss on what tests you should do to verify perhaps doing some cam/crank sensor searches will help you out.

I thought there was a sensor for that?
Maybe that's just on newer models.

Do you plan on installing yourself?

Yup there is a warning that is to come up when it logs the chain stretch but mine didn't! One of the things I'm going to be dealing with when it comes to Mitsubishi! Other is I'm at 114,000Km so only 14,000 very warranty and they don't want any part of helping out! Far as I'm concerned my chain didn't get this bad in the last 14,000Km! Yes I'm doing it myself at the garage I work at tomorrow night long as the parts get here in time! Doing chain, both guides and the chain tensioner as well just to be sure it's all good!

Sounds like your all set. Do you have a good service manual?

I will see if I can remember some pics and notes as I do it but I'm on a major time crunch to get it done. Will try though.

Well good news is that it runs!!!!
Have like a half hour tomorrow to bolt in wheel liners and put wheel back on and couple bolts up top then it's all done. All in all about 5 1/2-6 hours and it's all done! Not bad for a first for at one!!!
