Can't run much high rpm timing

Have been tuning my car and leaning out the fuel, It still dips rich at a few points. But the issue I'm having is I'm struggling to run any significant timing after 6000 rpm. I keep getting knock with only like 10-11*, I was under the impression that I should be able to get much more timing by redline.

I have a log attached, done in 3rd gear. At the moment the max knock count is only 2 but that's because I dropped timing, it was knocking much more before with only 1 or 2 degrees more after 6000 rpm.

Am I wrong in thinking that I should be able to run more timing than I am up top?

Car: 2001 VII GSR, 8MR turbo, full 3" exhaust w/dump, decat pipe, walbro 255, LICP, CAI, intake pipe, GM 3 port. Boost 25 psi peak, dropping to 22 psi by redline.

Would appreciate any advice.

That sounds about right to me for a stock turbo being forced to hold 22psi at redline on pump.

Oh really ok. I keep seeing threads with people running 15-20* so I thought something was wrong.

Should I let the boost taper off further and not try to hold so much at redline? Would I be able to run more timing then? Is more timing and less boost up top better than what I'm doing now?

With less boost you'll be able to have more timing, yes. As for whether it'll make more power, you'd have to try it out and see, and compare to what you have now.

Will do. I've been doing some reading on compressor maps, looks like I'm operating pretty inefficiently up top

I don't see an upgraded intercooler on that mod list. A nice upgrade will be beneficial. Also check for boost leaks, as you dont need to be working the turbo any harder than it needs to. Boost leak will cause IAT's to go up, resulting in knock. Try getting her closer to 11.0 on pump and pull a few degrees between 3000-4500rpm, then ramp it after that. Should feel great. You gotta nip it in the bud. Once you start knocking it's hard to stop as temps already are up.

cliffnotes: too much peak torque timing

I've changed to an 18psi actuator so I can run less boost up there. Is an upgraded intercooler a worthwhile mod with a stock turbo?
Also if its not knocking is there still a problem with having high peak torque timing? What should my peak torque timing be?
