Stock IM/TB, head is untouched other than the Poncams.

Those are absolutely amazing numbers! That 300 torque before 3500 rpm :O
This will be my next turbo for sure!

Awesome looking dyno sheet.

Wish I could have been the red powered evo to compare but I had a headgasket failure this summer and haven't had time or funds to fix it yet. I'm seriously considering selling my mhi red now to reduce shortcuts on building the motor properly and maybe get a efr in a few years...

Thanks everyone. I am beyond happy, IMO this is the perfect amount of power for an Evo (I know others have different opinions) and the fact that it makes 300tq at the same RPM as my 71hta but makes another 40whp is just awesome.

Dang it man...I really do want to drive an "equal" Evo with an FP red. It would really help put this turbo into an even better perspective. But beyond that, I hope to see your car running again soon!

It would probably be pretty dang similar, at least after about 3800 rpm. A IX would spool it faster than my VIII though for sure. Here is my graph 25psi on just wastegate pressure and just a few pulls tuning it myself. Assuming your cams are better than s1s and mine being an VIII with a worn motor (see compression and leakdown below ) Also started my pull after the point where yours is already crossing 300 torque. We know the IX spools faster and I'm sure your motor is healthier and had better tuning.

compression - leakdown
1. 147 psi - 24%
2. 150 psi - 14%
3. 150 psi - 11%
4. 130 psi - 28%
4. 155 psi w/ tsp of oil

XSivPSI,

Is your graph WHP or BHP as in flywheel power?

My guess whp, but just checking.
I don't think Red/MHI can approach spool of 7163 or even 7670. I've experienced 7670 on 2.0 and its "an experience" (Evo 9): although the dyno may show some "bottom end elasticity" as in slower-spool than 7163, the response and pull is shockingly great.

FP Red will own top end on E85, but all stock frame turbos are limited on pump fuel from backpressure, compared to full frame.

Is there an option for flywheel hp in virtual dyno? I haven't messed with it a ton. I thought it was WHP but I could be mistaken, though I sure hope not... Not on the computer with the program or logs at the moment.

Sorry, but...your previous setup on 71hta made 402 whp on mustang dyno, now you posted dynojet dyno with 447whp. Same boost up top. Correct me if I am wrong but 400 mustang and 450 dynojet is just about the same power?

Nope, the Mustang dyno I tuned my 71hta on was configured to read like the exact DynoJet my car made 447whp on since my first tuner had years of results on that specific dyno when he moved to the shop with the Mustang.

I'm sure it is still not a 100% accurate comparison, it never is - but saying my car makes 30-45whp more now I think is a very fair statement.

I think it is pretty funny that so many people just add 10-15% to the numbers they make on any Mustang Dyno when a lot of the time the ones with newer software read very close to a jet.

numbers also just dont matter. look at the two torque curves, for the 71HTA it peaks and continuously tapered, with the 7163 you can see that it wanted to just climb if it wasnt tamed through the tune...thats what ultimately matters.

awhit - any chance you could post a boost plot?

Hmm can you share single gear log (if you are on stock ecu)? 3rd or 4th gear? Just want to put it to virtualdyno to be in the same boat in terms of whp value.
Well let me be wrong, but...:
350-360 mustang whp=390-400 dynojet -high hp 98 ron stock turbo region.
400 mustang whp=450 dynojet -high hp 98 ron 71hta region.
e85 or meth adds 30-40whp extra(at least).
Expexted to see at least 500 dynojet from 7163 on 98 ron since it is 60 LB/min turbo.

Anyway that is definately the only large frame turbo with stock spool and responce...

I think you need to reread my post again. I'm also using an AEM Infinity.

Agreed. The numbers are not even what makes these turbos so great IMO. I don't have any as all the logs from the session are on my tuner's computer. But you should see peak boost reached right where the torque curve levels - and it is a flat 270kpa across the board after that.

Every time I peak into this thread, the two pics of the car and engine bay on the OP just make me jealous. This car is beautiful man. So well though out and properly put together.
