Well. For my "crap" irraggi alternator, i am going on over 2 years including 2 harsh winters and 40,000 miles (i travel quite extensively in my evo as well as it being my daily driver). And i have had no problems.

Im pushing 3 amps, a total of 10 drivers including 2 12" subs. Im a happy camper with my "crap" alternator.

Sorry to hear of the quick failures on the "better" option

I bought an excessive amperage unit and it failed quickly. Went back to stock and no issues.

Well shoot that sucks.

Need to find something with a few more amps. By the time you throw a few fuel pumps and big fans the amps start adding up quickly!

I had Mike of Singer Alternators make a custom 270 amp alternator for my car. Can’t recommend him enough.

What is the recommended safe rpm limit of that alternator?

I've been eyeballing this alternator & wondering if anyones heard of or had success with this company?

They even make their own underdrive pulley if its going to be revved over 8200 RPM.
