More fun issues
So i was driving my MR to work one day. i was in 5 or 6th gear playing with the throttle giving it gas and letting off between 60-70mph
Then the asc off light came up with the tire marks and a service required message came up. During this time the car would not accelerate. I pulled over and plugged in the tatrix cable to check the codes. These are what i got:
C3040 Some stupid code evo scan 2.9 says i was throwing on 2.8 it wasn't there
P0223 Throttle position sensor (sub) circuit high input
P0122 Throttle Position Sensor (main) Circuit Low Input evo 2.8 only had these codes
P1234 Throttle position sensor (sub) plausibility
P1233 Throttle position sensor (main) plausibility
U1417 Implausible Coding Data
C121C Torque request signal rejection
U0100
C1290 CAN time-out error
U3FFF
During this time while the car is running it is having afrs at 18+ and not idling properly.
The codes wouldn't clear after several attempts. Before i decided to call a tow truck i tried it again and the cleared and the car ran fine. This has happened to me twice now. It took about a week or so to have this happen again. Second time it was at about 40 mph and i was yet again on my way to work. Let it sit for 5ish mins and codes will clear and car fires right up and drives like it never happened
Could having the original relays in the car cause any of these problems? Im running around 25lbs of boost at its spike tapers down to 19psi
Drop in filter
Ams downpipe
Ultimate racing cat back
Testpipe
I have a copy of a log attached here along with the romhttps://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...-mr-issue.html

dont know how many miles you have but i would say your throttle positon sensor is starting to go bad. had the same thing happen to me on my motorcycle. I would be driving it would start running bad let it sit then start it up and run fine. and since its saying its that I would go ahead and get one.

It very well could be your TPS...do you spend a lot of time on the Highway or using cruise control at the same speed often...if so the brushes on the TPS will wear away at the circut board and cause the sensor to malfunction around a specific point. The only way to remedy the situation would be to replace it...or you could take the sensor apart and inspect for any signs of wear/pitting. Make sure the brushes/contacts are not bent too far back and inspect the "contact strip" on the circut board for issues (looks like a silver line where the brushes come into contact to determine throttle position).

I dont use cruise control daily but i do keep some what at the same speeds. I have 42.7k on the car. I never had this issue before i flashed the car. However doesnt mean that the tps couldnt be going bad.

you could always take it apart and check...but that would require to make marks on the throttle body to ensure that it goes back on EXACTLY how it came off....lol a lot of work for peace of mind
