duralast cmax pads
Decided to try a different pad for daily driving since the OEM pads create so much dust and are noisier than hell. I went with the duralast cmax pads AutoZone sells, after seeing quite a few positive comments about them I figured they were worth a shot.
Ive only bedded them so far, don't really have any mileage on them yet, but I was fairly impressed during the bedding process. They don't bite as hard as the OEM pads but still provide more than adequate braking power for any normal driving condition.
I did keep the stock pads in case I ever decide to put some track time on the car, or in the event the cmax's didn't perform. Time will tell and if I find that they are wearing the rotors faster than the OEM pads I will swap them back.
On a side note, the girlfriend wanted to go with me while I bedded the brake pads and didn't believe that I was actually going to speed up to 80 mph and slam on the brakes a few times. That was pretty funny :P

I will promise you the rotors will not wear faster. Brake dust is actually a lot of rotor and pads. The OEM pads create a lot of dust because they are so hard, creating more noise and wear on the rotors. The C-maxs are much softer than stock.
How much did they run at Autozone?

Hmm, good to know. I had read the speculations that they were harder on the rotors but never came across any threads confirming it or not.
They were about 54 bucks each set. Which I thought was kind of weird that the rears were the same price as the fronts.

Ceramic Pads will cause accelerated wear of brake rotors, the ceramic material is by nature a harder compound and therefore wears slower than semi-metallic pads. The friction of the pad on the rotor is what slows down your vehicle, so that friction has to wear some component, wether rotor or pad.
Note: This is dependent on the composition of your rotor as well.
