Evo 8 ECU in Evo 4 Problems

I will soon be swapping an Evo 8 engine into my Evo 4. I received my Evo 8 ECU today and thought it would be a good idea to get the immobilizer problem out of the way before the swap. I plugged in the E8 ECU with a conversion harness and a few weird things happened:

ECUFlash read the ROM with but told me it was an unknown one.

After making sure I had the proper drivers and still no luck reading the ROM, I decided to try turning the key, why not? The car started without any immobilizer periphery modifications!

The car idled fine but stumbled alot when the throttle was pressed, even lightly. (I have Evo 6 injectors)

Any ideas as to why I can't read the ROM, or why it started without ECU mods?

immobiliser is off in that rom , what wires are swapped in the harness ???

you need to turn off front o2 heater circuit evo4 hasnt a heater circuit periphery 0 bit 14

its 96530706 rom.

disconnect pin 6 sas evo 4 - egr evo8
remove pin 91 and ground the wire

Thankyou very much todd6027, I can read the bin file now!

Pin 8 and 22 are swapped
Pin 6 and 87 are disconnected.
Pin 91 is wired to chassis ground.

I think I wired up the A/C fans wrong. Your post from a few years ago regarding this swap said to move Pin 20 to 32 and move Pin 21 to 34. 20 to 32 makes sense but shouldn't Pin 21 be moved to Pin 31 as the E8 doesn't use Pin 34?

I am now trying to figure out why I'm running like crap. Could someone please have a look at my map?

Hey guys, sorry to bring this up from a few months.
I will do the swap from evo8 ecu to my evo4, now reading some older post this is what i found, and before a start i will like to see if is correct:
swap
pin 8 and 22
move pin 20 to 32
move pin 21 to 34
32 /34 have no pins/wires on evo4

remove
pin 91 and ground the wire
pin 87

run extra wire /pin to 79 for flash connector

join wires to hot cat sensor connector under drivers seat or remove bulb in dash

you will need to disable immobiliser in ecu and turn off cel for fr o2 sensor heater circuit or wire in a 4 wire o2 sensor
12 v switched to one o2 heater wire and the other heater wire to pin 60 at ecu

Do i have to add this to the process:
disconnect pin 6 ?
and
