Spark Plug Gap On A N\A

I've searched and have found that alot of you turbo guys are running a gap inbetween .25-.32.
I drive a N/A and am running that NGK gap of .44 and wanted to know if anyone knows the rule if I can gap tighter for better results on a N/A or if I need to stick to factory specs?

So with a little further research I think I've found the answer if anyone who knows can conform?

A: Use the biggest gap you can without cuaseing problems with misfire.
I.E. If I'm not having misfire problems with the .44 gap then I should stick to that gap as a larger gap will make a cleaner burn.

Is this right?
