Thoughts on Jack's Transmissions?

I need to get my clutch replaced on my 2013 Evo X MR, and I'm looking at shops "near" me. The two names that come up are Jack's Transmissions (5 hours away) and Kozmic (13 hours away). I've heard great things about Jack's, but one bad review regarding SSTs.

Does anyone have any experience with Jack's?

Your car is Automatic right?

Kozmic over Jacks for sure. Had a customer get a gsr trans rebuilt by Jack's, they email us after the trans arrives here saying to take the shifter off and see if we can take a picture to make sure they didn't leave a spacer off the shaft. Never again.

Also, Kozmic has a close relationship with Dodson, and they have (had) the record setting Evo X MR in the texas mile.

If you had a manual trans, I would be telling you to go to TRE. Jacks is not a leader. They are probably 4th, behind TRE, Shep, and Kozmic.

Kozmic! They are amazing and they helped me out with an issue on my SST and it's still going after previous owner put some unknown liquid. Plan to use them for my future complete overall. They have broken records with the SST and now make their own clutches!

this is not really a fair review...
why don't you tell the whole story?
my tech was worried it was left out but it was in fact in place.
personally I much rather check something like this an know for sure than get in the car and have issue. We could of kept quiet and just waited to see but instead we reached out to avoid issue.
but I guess you've never thought you've made a mistake and wanted to double check right?

as for us not being a leader why dont you ask E-spec who does all their manuals in the X.

Actually the Kosmic house clutches are made by Alto.

Yes, it was still there. But I have never had a vendor call me and ask to verify if something was missing or not from a critical assembly.

It's great that you verified. But to think it might have been missing in the first place is what the issue was for me.

And for us too, that's why we reached out to dbl check.
it was also a first and a last for me having to do that.
my tech doesn't forget things so when he thought he might of we took it very serious.
his track record is very solid but he's still human. No shop anywhere can say they have never had a single issue or never second guessed themselves.

I don't have an SST, but I'm looking forward to the day I can get my manual rebuilt and modified by Jacks.

A few rally teams here local to me have used their transmissions with great success.
