COTA RESULTS ARE IN: 2:27 EMP EVO IX RS Lap Time
COTA RESULTS:
Hey guys, I posted 2:27 as my fastest lap and 2:29 was my second fastest. Consistent low 2:30's. This was via Harry's Lap Timer. Got so much GoPro video, it will take some time to post best angles from 5 cameras, but count on it!
In summary, WHAT A TRACK! Everything and more you want it to be. Let's see....after turn 1, 4th gear esses begin with turn 3 and you start your rhythm. Suddenly, you find yourself winding your way around a blind off camber corner that's decreasing radius......left foot braking to tuck in the nose trying to get right. Wow! Then a few more fun corners with elevation the EVO loved. Onto some quick straights. Yummy. Just set up for your turn 12 apex and go from 3rd to 4th to 5th passing Vipers, Ferraris, Porsches, and GTR's just before braking at turn 12. The corners here are so wide the track actually has room for RV's which wouldn't be in the way at all. 😀. Tons of run off and exit strategy areas. Anyway, turns 12-16 favor the EVO as I ate up everything including radicals. Setting up for the carousel around the F1 landmark TOWER is amazing. Set the EVO and try and repeat your last line around the long blind bend. Shift to 5th in the middle if you can..assessing your grip...when you get it right and your in triple digits completing the turn. Fast 19 turn which most brake to much for and blitz to last corner 20 to set up for long main straight. Row the gears from 2nd to 5th and hold your line to steep hillclimb where you complete your braking before the crest to flat ground. Then, dive down turn 2 hill into right off camber sweeper and do it all again!!!!!🙀🙀🙀🙀

Evo 9 RS by SoCal driver does 2.22 flat at COTA:
Dual purpose Evo from SoCal,
2.3 with FP Red on E85, probably 500whp on track (you have to mind the boost, it runs all the time for 30 minutes, so boost has to be moderate)
Ohlins R&T
Stoptech brakes
18x10 Volk TE37 with 275/35x18 Hoosier R7
Simple recipe...
2.22 at COTA, and 1.34 at Laguna.
He's gifted.
