It's not new, it's been around for years. VWs did it for a long time and I've seen it on Subarus as well.

You don't see it very often in Mitsu's though, from what I have seen. The Evos go more towards track set up then the show set up. Mitsu's go more for the performance aspect than anything, and we all know our Lancer weren't meant for performance. But I concur with you Amby, on that it has been going on for a long time in other vehicle makes.

But it looks freaking awesome!!!!

 

You see it every once in a while on Evos but not really on Evom, most people stick with proper fitment here.
