Had a front ended on the ES, fresh from the shop..
My girlfriend and I were driving through an intersection that only had a stop sign on the left and right streets, we had no stop..
A Honda Odyssey minivan piloted by a 19 year old girl armed with a deadly cell phone wasn't paying attention to her stop sign with the huge sign under it "cross traffic does not stop"
So she proceeds to roll into the intersection and we were left with a split second of reaction time just enough to lock up the tires for 2 feet then slam! All I remember seeing was the faint glow of a rectangular light from the drivers hand as we pounded that ****..
She gave us the WTF?!!? look, got out and said "Why didn't you stop?"
At this point, I'm just walking off my knee being smashed into the dashboard..
All I did was point at her stop sign and said "read whats under your stop
sign genius, you would have seen it if you weren't text messaging, idiot"
My girlfriend was driving when this went down
(she more than knows what she's doing behind the wheel)
In between her thumbs and index finger were pretty sore where she was holding onto the steering wheel and our daughter in the back was just shaken up a little bit, but all in all, everyone was fine..
We hit the van hardly approaching 40 (40mph limit) there is just enough distance from the light to get it up to 35mph..
Van
The drivers side of the van was pretty trashed, the whole front end was pushed slightly to the passengers side, the tire as camber sits was about 45 degrees worth of negative camber
The passengers side headlight was popped out like a teddy bear being hugged too hard.
Lancer
Mostly on the drivers side, ultra flared the fender, all mounting tabs on the headlight were broken clear off, bumper cover, bumper support, one of the rollers underneath were hanging down, core support needed a minor pulling to line up, hood had a small but fixable dent.. Airbags never deployed.. Glad they didn't or else it would have been a total loss..
While we were in there, I had em match the stock chrome grill to the hood..
I told them not to drill the bumper for the license plate.. I'll mount it up some other way...
Just last weekend I swapped the HID projector setup into the new headlight and now she's better than ever..
Thanks for looking..
