a narrow band signal normally reads from .1V @ 14AFR to 1.5V @ 15AFR. A wideband is from .1V to 5V from anywhere in the single digits to the 20's, it depends on the sensor.

Doesn't AEM make a gauge that reads a wide band AFR, i think i comes with a wide band sensor aswell.... and should you be taking the reading from the first O2 sensor or the one after the cat

AEM UEGO, and first sensor. You want to get your reading before the cat.

i just read this thread, and i have an a/f gauge and i put mine to the ecu's wiring. just an idea to throw it out to those people that dont want to go underneath there car. i have seen a diagram on this website that tells you what each wire to the ecu is.

If you need to tune, go the wideband route.

If you are going to replace your stock o2 sensor and have the wideband emulate a narrowband you have to wire into the correct wires on the ECU, not just random grounds/power supplies, and must ground the AFR gauge at the same point as the o2 sensor.

If you are adding a third sensor (for wideband readings) you have more leeway on the wiring but have to have some welding done instead, and the gauge still has to be wired to the same ground as the o2 sensor.

Bringing this back as I am in the middle of the install myself. I plan on wiring to pin 10 (blue/yellow) for the heated front o2 sensor, I had a quick question, of the four wires on the cigarette lighter, which one is the 12v acc? I thought it was the brown wire, but now I'm not too sure and dont want to go splicing into the wrong wires.

EDIT: correct wire is blue/red

wow, bringing back the dead....

you actually do NOT need to go outside the cockpit to get to the blue/white O2 wire. Take out your centre console, and the passenger side kick panel. Pull back the carpet and on the floor close to the centre of the car is a gromet with a wire coming through it... thats the o2 wire.....

i am installing a wide band and I am wondering what a good 12v source is that is not going to hurt anything else. I notice at the for the first page of the forum the ACC wire for the CD head unit was noted what color is this wire? Thanks everyone.

you can do that one... i believe it's a blue/yellow wire... BUT check out the12volt.com and look up the wiring diagram to be sure... OR you can splice and solder into the ciggarette lighter...
