What are people doing to use the 3rd tailight? I have the Evo 8 spoiler coming and i heard its illegal to not have a third taillight? What are people doing? Thanks

 

it is buy w.e ive been doin it for about a year now i like not haveing a wing on and no cops ever stoped me about it u will be fine dont worry

 

as for my part, i put the oem 3rd brake light inside the car to make sure i dont get any tickets. Yes it looks fugly but this is while im waiting for this by the mail (bought it from someone here)

I'd check a junkyard first, just buy the 3rd brake light housing out of a Lancer ES or Evo that has the housing. To install on your stock rear deck, you'll need to cut three holes. If you get the light bulb and harness, there's a spot in the RA trunk to just plug it right in (if you look, I'm sure you'll see it).

 

If it's illegal why would they put it stock on mirages? I doubt it

 

its illegal because you need three brake lights. By replacing the old spoiler with an evo one, you are in essence deleting a brake light. If you put an evo spoiler on a car that had no spoiler to begin with theres no problem because it'll already have a third brake light on the rear deck
