Not to rub it in, but I use the garage... Anyway I still washed my car a lot in the winter, even if I just pulled into one of thos spray booths & did a quick job... Just to keep ALL that salt & etc. crap off!!!

LOL, notice I said "yet"
I do have a dent on one of the doors, (bastards at school I think what I will do is wash the car well, clay the car and then look carefully, if the paint looks good, I will go ahead with wax, if there are any scratches, I will have to polish. I shouldn't need any swirl remover though, anything on my car is just some minor dullness or scratches.
Winter sucks Detailed the inside today, the outside will get done sunday (unless it rains).

Claying won't damage anything (use enough spray/keep the paint wet) and it really is slick at removing things. Works on wheels and windows too. But I wouldn't do it on wheels unless it is an old, full clay bar. One other thing, no matter HOW clean the ground is under you, DO NOT reuse a bar you dropped, no matter how sure you are that you got everything out. A tiny speck of dirt will scratch everything up.
k, i finally found some clay for this....do i need anything else? when i talked to the guy @ the shop he said i didnt need to buy anything else w/ it. but he went and asked someone else to make sure, and when he came back he said just to follow the instructions and that i dont need anything else. yet on the back of the container it says to use correction clay lube.

To get old wax off you can use regualr white distilled viniger and it gets rid of water spots and wax.

You don't "need" anything else with the clay, BUT you HAVE to keep the car wet with soapy water if you didn't get spray with the clay bar (it's car detailing clay right?)
What I did was washed with dishwashing soap to get rid of the old wax, then I used the clay (I got spray with mine), then I rinsed the car, dried it, then I waxed with meguiars liquid gold class wax. Car looked like new.
