I think what I will do is wash the car well, clay the car and then look carefully, if the paint looks good, I will go ahead with wax, if there are any scratches, I will have to polish. I shouldn't need any swirl remover though, anything on my car is just some minor dullness or scratches.Winter sucks

One other thing, no matter HOW clean the ground is under you, DO NOT reuse a bar you dropped, no matter how sure you are that you got everything out. A tiny speck of dirt will scratch everything up.

What I did was washed with dishwashing soap to get rid of the old wax, then I used the clay (I got spray with mine), then I rinsed the car, dried it, then I waxed with meguiars liquid gold class wax. Car looked like new.
