$40 pre-cut tint??

Wondering if I should try this. $40 and a couple of hours of work instead of spending $250 for someone to do it for you. What do you think? Anyone done this?

no you have to shrink the back window, you also need a place that is clean and no wind or breeze. that car should cost between 150 to 200 max to get tinted py a pro.

I agree, tinting your windows yourself is very difficult. I would say take it to a professional tint shop. I had mine done recently and it came to around 130 and it looks perfect.

You could look at in the way of "what's my time worth"...I mean on the high side say it's $300 to get a pro to do it. Or do it yourself and probaly spend most of the day dicking around with it and get not nearly as good of a job (theoreditcally speaking, could turn out that you have mystic tinting abilities and it will look great).

So then you have to think, is the extra $260 worth more then the fustration of doing it yourself.

A friend of mine helped a friend of his do window tint o nthe guys old car, he said they spent like 3-4 hrs and it, and it ended up with a lot of air bubbles and looked pretty ****ty. (I never actually seen the car) My friend says he'll never do it again.

Me, I took mine to a pro, droped it off at 7:30 am, went to work, picked it up at noon, and it cost me $275 (cdn dollars), I'm happy with the job and think it was worth the cash.

I did my side windows on my old car, twice. both times it came out pretty good, but I would never attempt the rear window. That convex curve is super difficult from what I understand.

Like he said. What is your time worth. If you wanna give it a try go for it. But expect to spend a considerable amount of time doing very tedious work. With it being your first time it's probably not going to come out that well and you will probably want to do it again.

Me personally, the frustration isn't worth it. I spent a little over $200 to get mine done and it was well worth it to not have to go through all the issues of doing it yourself. For most mods on your car that don't deal with pulling out your engine I'm all for the DIY except tint. It's just too much of a pain.
