HID Temp Questions

So I'm going to be getting some HIDs for my RA and I was wondering what you guys think about this setup that I'm planning for.

8000K for the lowbeams on projectors and 6000K for the fogs

Do you guys think thats a little too much? Should go down a step for each? Should my fogs be brighter than the lowbeams? I don't know what would look good and want some opinions.

8000k for projectors is too much.

4300k or 5000k is fine for low beams. 6000k is doable too.

Well then if i go with 6000K for the lowbeams what would you suggest for the fogs? Would 6000K all around be okay?

I prefer 6000k because of the pure white. Keep in mind, you will be blinding everyone on the road unless you have HID certified projectors.

Well these are the projectors I'm going to be putting the HIDs into... I hope that these won't cause too much of a problem even though they're not HID certified...

yeah, the highest i'd go is 6000k on hids, nothing pass that. most stock car Hid is around 4300-5000k. More K, less light output, more color.

^Agreed.

The fog color is really up to you. I'd say color/temp match them tho

Just remember, 6k puts out the most light or lumens or whatever you call it. 8k just start giving you that blue color, and above that is all the other colors like purple, green, pink, but you lose lumens. 6k is like a really bright white. 5k is white thats not as bright. I would go 6k on low, 5000 or 4300k on fog, or, just go 6k all around. I personally can't make up my mind on if I should go HID on my fogs either. Does anyone know what kelvin the stock evo headlights come with? 5k I believe.

Most stock setups with HIDs from the factory run 4300k bulbs bc the lumen output is the highest at this temp. Whether or not the projectors look blue or purple or rainbow has to do with the lens, the cutoff shield position, and the reflector bowl. This pertaining only to HID certified projectors of course.
If anyone wants to learn about HID, go to www.hidplanet.com/forums
If you want to just ask questions and have everyone else do the leg work for you, do so, by all means. But, there is information out there for you to learn this stuff.
