Stock Stereo Antenna Powered?

I'm in the process of installing a new stereo deck and I've noticed that stock antenna lead has yellow line tied to it. Is this to power the antenna, do we have powered active antenna?

Anyone else noticed this?

Yes, yellow is for the antenna. I installed my stereo and I used the yellow wire and AM comes in like ****. I don't know what I did wrong but ever since I upgraded my stereo AM makes weird noises like I'm getting signals from ALIENS! hah Oh well, only listen to AM for Sac Kings games anyway. 99% of the time I have a mp3 disk in.

huh?? I hooked up the antenna through the ground and the regular antenna hook up IIRC. But it has been a while, I don't remember a yellow antenna wire.

I just installed a new HU(02 ES) and I have three extra wires. One is yellow, with a little connector, and one is black with a yellow stripe. Can't remember the other. Anyone have any ideas what these go to. The HU seems to work fine.
