So far my proto type kit total is $4,100! Alll though thats with the boost cooler/ install of my "a" pillars and 2 auto meter carbon faced meters! One for boost and 1 for air/fuel. And that doesn't include fabricating the down pipe but it does include the installation of the pipe that i ordered from RRM! So just the proto type kit I am guessing $3,600. But i would expect the actuall kit to be more like$4,200 or in that area! But that's just a guess!

remember install is pretty hefty, i believe about 900 or so.

if you look at ripp's pricing for most stg1 kits, its going to be like 3600 for the kit itself, and usually 500 more for the stg2 upgrade (which includes the boost cooler and upgraded pulley). You basically have a stg1.5 kit, so yeah, your price sounds like a pretty good deal

Yeah I feel like I got a great deal! And plus ripp is doing the install wich makes me feel 20 times better. There is one shop in the area wich I trust but thats it! They are the ones that are going to finish my exaughst. Thanks for the header tips I mentioned it to the guys at MSP and they are looking in to a long tube design. They are great at custom stuff as they should, they built the usa's fastest supra! He has i think 2 pattents on intakes for that car, and last month I think he pulled a 7.88 in the 1/4 mi. That might make it the worlds fastest but not sure. Any ways the days are counting down ca't wait! Oh yeah so even with the down pipe and boost cooler you still think under 240whp? Wich will be awesome but everyone has wishfull thinking!!

Hey sorry for all the Q's bro! But gotta learn some how! Hey you said in a post (not sure where) but not to mess with timing or internals on a sds kit! Now rrm's boared throtle body shouldn't hurt right? My problem is money to spend and the wan't for more ! And with little parts on the market for the ra I have to turn to cutom work! But ripp is 4 hours away and thats a trip for small custom work! And I don't wan't anyone else to "f" with the programing ! So what's left that won't screw with there piggy back?

RRM doesn't make a bored throttle body. They make a P&P Intake Manifold. Did you mean that?

the only things you need to stay away from that could mess with the tune and would need a custom tune are non-ripp pulleys, cam shaft and cam gear. everything else is A OK. ported intake would be a good idea, along with throttle body. but i would hold off for RPW's stuff to come out, there are the only mitsu experts and although a bit pricey, their stuff is always top notch and worth every penny.

remember, anything that will help the engine breath is going to be good: ported tb, intake mani, head, headers, downpipe etc

but frankly you need to have a plan in place and not just go out and start buying random stuff. RRM's ported intake manifold is frankly a complete and utter waste of money. they are slightly porting out the stock manifold and although people claim gains can be felt, its not worth the money.

go for a REAL intake manifold upgrade (ala rpw's) that comes with upgraded tb flange and plenum chamber along with velocity stacks. also, remember your only as strong as your weakest link, so what good is a upgraded IM with stock TB?

bottom line: be smart about your upgrades so you don't regret it in a couple months

That's why Mitsubishi sponsors RRM and gives them cars... They have also used a lot of their tuning methods to investigate future possibilities of mitsubishi turbo projects. It's just funny how you say that RPW is the only mitsu experts

Anyway... for a RIPP SDS guy the more air in the better... if you can get a better manifold, TB, etc... do so and your power will go up.

Also look into a lighter crank pulley but no an underdrive as that won't help. Lightened flywheel and better clutch would be great as well.

Lastly you could also get the head ported. An SC benefits greatly from better flowing intake and exhausts porting. The RPW cam sounds great as well. Especially since they are only going to play with the Mivec lobe. That should give you great results but may require some retuning.

Either way, with all that, you could be one of the fastest Ralliarts around...

yeah, mitsubishi usa may use rrm, but well, boe, RPW is in australia and well........../hands boe an altas

anywho, i say rpw is the only expect cause they have never sacrificed performance, never. who is the only one that sells mitsu cams? who is the only one who figured out the ralliarts fly by wire throttle body and is offering upgraded ones? who refuses to sacrifice peformance via shorty headers, but instead sticks to research and development to design the best headers for mitsus (long tube, equal length)? Answer to all of them: RPW

but like I said, I woudl stay away from the "timing" mods for now (camshaft, etc) just stick with the basic bolt ons, wait till you get your car back, then go from there

<<< starts popping the corn, cause a Greenpsycho / Boeturbolancer debate is better than a bad soap opera any day!
Sorry I really don't have anything to contribute, I just like to read these and learn something (caveat reader).....back to the discussion about RIPP SDS.......DING!

This is a little OT but please don't say things that can be misleading.

Australia JUST got the Ralliart model there within what the last 2 months? RPW has alot of products in the works which they put on hold because they advised their customer car to put more miles on before testing.

Rather than try to rush to market with anything and hurt their "donor" car in the process they have chosen to go the other route.

The Ralliart has been out in the States for years now.

Back ON topic...

Nice to see that RIPP is working with the Lancer community still. I like to keep abreast of all the developments through out EVOM.

I can't wait to see the dyno sheets!!!!!

It's no heartache to me... I'd just like those people who want to buy an SDS to be able to read what IS pertinent to it.

We've been down this road before.
