i like both but since i am starting autoX maybe i should wait and get the SDS kit instead of turbo

and yes no turbo/SC arguements, i think one guy stopped coming on the forums b/c he was bashed so hard about having the SDS kit, way to go turbo guys

I think both Turbo and Supercharger has their drawbacks but its all on how you balance the combination... As always its a matter of personal preference

BTW ; If anyone has installed the RIPP kit maybe he os she should post pics cause It's gaining interest among the communnity heheh.

What numbers are those ?

The only numbers that I am aware of are from the RRM website itself and was done on a DynoJet Dyno.....not impressive at all. Take away about 10-15% from their numbers and THAT is what the actuall wheel HP would be.

Also, RRM claims 80+HP over stock.....(now watch this carefully)
245HP - 80HP = 165 HP ? (as in, 165 STOCK Crank HP ?)

The RIPP kit shows a TRUE 100HP gain at the wheels, considering the RalliArt runs about 134 WHP (according to RRM as well, when showcasing their "3 mod" 27HP Dyno chart ?) and is able to show 232 WHP on an Automatic......perhaps even more on a 5 speed.

The RIPP system (in the video) shows the car (an automatic at that...) making 232 WHP on a DynoDynamics Dyno, which is able to load the car, similar to a Mustang Dyno and able to give REAL HP numbers....not like BLOATED numbers found by using a DynoJet......

That same RIPP car on a DynoJet Dyno would probably easily pull off over 250HP....or more.

I would LOVe to see an RRM Turbo powered car step up to a Mustang Dyno and give some real world numbers once and for all so that this can be settled....no more debates then.

I am not aware of anyone that has actually Dyno'd their car and shared the results after installing the RRM kit......why is that ?

Anyways, as my SDS is already on the UPS truck and is on it's way, I will share MY results from a Mustang Dyno run when it is tuned, after the installation at the end of the month.

Cheers....and let the flaming begin !

Allan

awesome, good show Allan. I can't wait to hear your results. The other guy who went this direction wasn't able to handle the heat though, I hope you bought a suit. If you didn't I have one for sale

One of the reasons I am going turbo is the availability of universal parts. after doing quite a bit of reading I would actually like to supercharge, but as usual I don't have enough money to bolt on

does anyone know where I can get a universal supercharger? I am sure I can come up with everything else myself and if yes, anyone interested in some turbo parts

good now we can get someone to stay on the forum long enough to give us real feedback on the sds kit. ive decided that ill continue to work with my custom turbo kit, but if the end results are positive with the sds then i just might cross over.

Akinakin is right, Rippmods sds kit gives 100 whp at 8 psi. Truly good numbers, compared to RRM 10 psi. I was definitely set on a turbo but considering the reliance of the SDS in the long run I will go for that. If you check the 3G eclipse boards a lot of guys have it and it's nothing but praises. Also the Meth injection proves to be much safer than FMIC. I'm not saying that on is better than the other but considering I have a 4G Eclipse (which is heavy as hell) I need the power from the bottom.

RRM kit is on 7psi not 10....

and i think a man from peurto rico said it best... Horsepower wins dyno compitisions, touque wins races. 217 lbs of tourque? NOT BAD im not gonna lie. But i know a few guys are hitting that number all motor.

and about RRM using a dynojet? almost everybody uses a dyno jet, its the most popular one. read superstreet, import tuner, dsport, its what everybody uses. When i read test&tune articles, i dont read "this car has 220 dyno tested wheel horsepower, BUT take antoher 20 hp off that. No its actually WHP. thers nothing wrong with the 7PSI rrm turbo going 242 hp and 262 lbs of tq.

now im not hating on the SC kit. It sounds nasty, i absolutly love it. I'm also not starting a war. Im just saying i love my dyno proven tourquy (?) RRM turbo kit a little bit more than that screaming SC kit. Sorry.

And oh yea, the guy so crazy about numbers, not trying to start a war, but why worry about dyno numbers? on the RIPP SC thread (smoked a turbo'd ralliart) i tried to set up a meeting with a SC ralliart, and they didnt respond. Please dont bench race. Take it to the strip. Next thing somebody will complain abotu is "oh elevation and temperature on the dyno's make a huge difference" ... BS i live in jersey/philly/newyork area... i'll go somewhere and have fun at the strip.
