Ralliart Evolution Project
I too have had similar ideas... I would love a stock looking RA on the outside, with turbo/awd capabilities... I wonder if you are thinking of widening the stance or leaving the current trackwidth alone... May require shorter drive axles, but I don't see the problem with it...
I imagine you will need to fabricate some in the rear driveline area on the body, do youy have welding abilities and equipment.... May be able to swap over the entire rear driveline cradle into the RA....

i am leaving the trackwidth the way it is. drive axles should fit in just perfect, but tight im sure.
and i personally am not good at welding but friends are and we do have mig and tig weld machines so not too worried as diavlo has mentioned the front should all be just a srtaight swap out but the rear diff will be the only problem as the crossmember on the ra is welded.

for what i have read and researched from the net and diavlo... the front end should all be swap out swap in. the only challenge is the rear diff mounting. not sure, gotta wait to see how it goes. i will be trying to keep the ra with upgraded brakes but then again i might use the evo's

yeah thats what i heard. we are gonna discuss and see how it will work with the evo, more than likely i will be using the ra ones. but i still got to talk to diavlo. got a few questions for him.
thats really cool that you are actually doing what im beating alot of us think about here. props to your bro,
also when you part out your 4g69 i may be interested in your cai and udp depending on when it is you part it out so let me know!

Acutally, it could be cheaper than an evo. If you can get the engine, tranny, wiring, and all the stuff for the rear under $10,000, it would be cheaper than an evo. Plus you will save on insurance. The insurance would be the biggest savings.
I know for a fact you can buy a lower mileage salvage EVO for under 10k... Doing it yourself would be the $$$ saver... Just at tip... Swap out the entire vehicle electrical harness from headlights to taillights... If you get a complete car, swap out the guage clusters as well... Then all you gotta do is hook up the battery and you know it will run... I've done this on several trucks in the past that were carburated and wanted to go to fuel injection (rockcrawler stuff) and it was simple as pie...

well we know how to do it, it wont be too hard at all. and we are swaping out the harnes but not entirely. headlights and stuff like that will stay. i am looking for a salvage and yes they are cheap but finding one isnt easy, plus i have to see if they will ship it. i already have some parts, but not buying anymore until i can see if i can get a salvaged evo. and thats the whole point to get a salvage so i can take what ever i want from it.
Im not sure how much border taxes you would end up paying on this(shipped) however I found a Rolled Evo in QUebec(no duties this way), Look it up on the Auto trader website(its a 2003 evolution) If you do get this, want to sell your door panels ??
