what i read the 2005 gt eclipse is a 200hp v6, the gts is 210 hp v6 both 3.0 when turboed it must be close to an evo, is it worth swapping into an RA? from what I've read theres been some headaches with eclipses (correct me if im wrong!) there must be many junked eclipses than there is evos. with engine mods it must put out some good hp!

well you see the v6 is a much bigger engine. it is possible to put in as i have research it. but it is very tight and i mean tight! however it is good for power! but i dont want v6 im happy and feel like i would accomplish more doing up the 4g69 custom built with turbo. and the fact that it is sohc with more ***** than an evo and faster off the line (due to the outlander awd system) it is perfect!

also i just found my outlander with my 4g69 5spd awd. costs me $4500 and it has only 3900kms on it!

your right, i wasnt thinking of the tightness of the v6 engine! akira, im glad you got something better from an awd outlander you atleast will find parts if needed (not to put down evos and ralliart, im happy we're rare to find especially sportbacks. but it would be nice to find some more power gains to throw at the ralliarts and some extra mula for me to start something with my wagon!)

best wishes on your project!

have you looking into the gearing of the outlander in the rear diff or tranny?
any idea if you'll have any issues with the diffrent body mass of the ra vs. the outlander?
Also, any idea what type of power output will it be able to handle?

Finally, where did you find your outlander for $4500?
I've been searching and cant seem to find anything for a good price.
Most places have just the awd tranny going for $2200.

well i dont know the power it can handle but gear ratio is same as ralliart except 5th gear is slower by a bit! i am keeping the outlander tranny but also buying an evo 8 one and trying to use it instead of the outlander one. better gear ratio plus stronger / handle more power!

as for where i got my outlander was at a local salvage yard it was a roll over not too bad for damage but it runs good still all parts still new and low kms. they offer me to just buy it off them rather than stripping off piece by piece of what i needed.

If someone can fit an LS1 into an evo you could fit the V6 into a ralliart.

so from what you'd researched, the evo tranny and t-case shouldn't have any issues coupled with the outlander diff?

Sounds cool man, probably going to do this over the next few months or so myself.

the outlander diff and evo diff are very similar and many evo guys have used outlander driveshafts connecting to their rear diff sooo it is very compatible in some ways.

as for ls1 never looked into it anything is possible though just need the know how and lots of time/research. but i like my 4cyl. sohc that can eventually go faster than a v8!!! smaller engine ftw!

i like to stick with mitsu parts and make unique fast off the line ralliart!

have you thought about the possibility of swapping the evo diif internals with the outlander diff internals?

I thinks some guys from saudi arabia did it. An LS1 in a RA is as unique as they come. just giving you a hard time though.

I hate to be the 'Dream Squasher'.....but you may not have to build your own Evo VIII out of an RA......

Come September 1, 2009, Canadian bumper standards will finally adhere to those in Europe and the United States, despite IIHS disagreeing on the matter. Canada's current standards have very strict low speed impact requirements. These damage protection standards often lead manufacturers to tack ugly padding on their bumpers. The unique standards can also be used as an excuse to keep many vehicles out of the Canadian market altogether.

Looks like all United States Cars will be legal in Canada if everything goes as planned......

You're not a dream squasher at all, he is well aware of this and has already addressed it. But I am very happy about the development.

kudos to ya man. Uniqueness is always the way to go. I actually had a similar idea back when I bought my '06, but after looking at all the red tape involved with buying an evo, I decided it'd be better to just get an RA and custom it. Out of curiosity, what evo you basing it on? the 8 or 9?
