Recirc BOV to Vented BOV...

Hey guys..
This might sound stupid but.. Im curious if we moved the throttlebody and MAF sensor around.. maybe we could establish a vented BOV?

Let's discuss...

Seems pointless to me. I tried running a 50/50 vent/recirc I don't suggest doing it the car ran like ****.

On our cars, the only folks who have done it sucessfully have pressurized the MAF:

filter--->turbo--->BOV--->MAF--->TB

...as opposed to recirc.:

filter--->MAF--->BOV recirc. dump--->turbo--->BOV--->TB

A couple of custom turbo'ed RAs have pressurized MAF setups, apparently the sensor's good for ~10psi, but nothing crazy beyond that.

At least one of those people switched back to recirc shortly after trying VTA.

If I was gonna go turbo I would want to hear the blow off valve.

Why dont you just upgrade the maf and run the translator then you can blow out to the atmosphere. No more recirculating

would we be able to vent to atmosphere if we are running a standalone ecu?

You can definately hear it recirculated, especially if you have an open element filter.

If you go standalone and set it up to use a MAP sensor (as opposed to MAF), you can VTA all you want.

we can just switch the sensors from maf to map ?

excellent...
I am going with a standalone ecu..because i dont want to have issues with my car long term...
and this will just aid in the decision!

Not the same (of course), the sound has to go through the piping/out the filter/etc. There's a turbo'ed TC local to me, he's venting a SSQV to atmosphere, that thing is loud as hell (the high squeely whistle). I have a Synapse Synchronic BOV recirculated, it kinds sounds like the "whiplash" sound of the aliens' tails from Aliens.

Not with the stock ECU...if and when you go standalone, no doubt.
