Turbo or supercharged

Okay so I know that Ralliarts can be turbocharged, but how about supercharged? I'm curious to which would be better as in more bang for your buck, please try and be unbiased haha

The bang for the buck part is easy: turbo wins. There are so many stock turbo Mitsubishis that you can get used parts from to cobble together a kit makes it that way. There isn't any supercharger out there that will easily adapt to the 4GXX engine without a bunch of fabrication.

hey guy this all depends what you are trying to accomplish and what you are trying to use the car for.

generally on a 4cyllinder a turbo is the way to go just because a supercharger actually takes engine power to make posative power

iv heard supercahrgers depending on the type can take as much as 1/3rd of natural engine power to start producing power.

a turbo doesnt take any power to make more power which is why they are a lot more specific to the 4cyllinders because they are typically weak because of what they are.

some 4 cyiiilner stuff can also be turbo annd supercharged if you use a cyntrifugal type charger.

from a power standpoint theres no way a charger can compete with a snail because a charger is limited by engine rotation whereas a turbo is not.

all depends on you and what u want. just start looking for info go your own rt just do it right and not halfass and you will be happy.

agreede with this. the mitsu engines are designed around a turbo why change whats already working and also agreed with the money part a turbo will def be cheaper.

and imo the feel of a charger making 20lbs boost and the feeling of a turbo making 20lbs boost hands down the turbo will always put a bigger smile on my face than a charger

Well I can honestly say I have have both on my car. As 4g63kid said it depends on what you are trying to accomplish. Cranswick and RalliartN have seen the supercharger in action it is impressive but LOUD....personally I prefer the turbo set up, both will produce power top end but i like the turbo its nothing more than a personal preference

the supercharger was nice, pulled like a ****, sounded cool, but yeah, it was loud, i'm pretty sure the bypass valve was wide open in vacuum, which was quite audible...i went the way of the turbo, because of how it's mechanically operated...and the way boost is produced...i think i'll be happier with a boost curve produced by a turbo.

I really wanted to supercharge. The ripp kit looks so badass!! I couldn't afford the whole cost upfront though. That's why I am going turbo so I could piece together the kit over time.
